Milleniumfalcon.com has a great list of changes done to the OT for this blu-ray set at http://www.millenniumfalcon.com/phpb...pic.php?t=9065 in case anybody is interested.

What has me confused is one of the videos they have there as examples of changes, namely ´Empire Strikes Back - Space Slug Walk´. I´ve watched it and it doesn´t look like its been changed from the dvd or the original theatrical release for that matter. Am I missing something?

After all that slagging I did of Tesco and why not to go with them. Turns out they are the first to have sent out their orders.

(I know that it´s not possible to get a razor sharpness with these movies but maybe Lucasfilm could offer the truly best PQ possible).
To be fair not many people have seen the discs yet,and as there are no reviews it's a little early to say one way or the other.

And as with anything people will always have their own opinion on what perfection is,and people stating their said opinions will have different setups etc.

I think we need to see a couple of reviews from Blu-ray.com and Hidef digest to see how good or bad the set is.

A 2k scan is fine as Blu-rays resolution will not go higher than this, sure a 4k scan will help a little, but it's far more important that a proper restoration is carried out.And in this regard the star wars movies have been restored many times.

But no matter what you do the original source will always play a very important part,ie it's condition and filmstock, and remember some movies can only ever look so good.

That was the same with the Nintendo 3ds,Amazon messed up their release day pre-orders,so I got mine at my local Tesco score at midnight.

Also, some have said that Harrison Ford is the best actor in the OT. Again, I'd like to know how and/or why they've reached this conclusion. Is it because he's had the biggest overall body of live-action work, when compared to his costars? Even after 30 years, most know him as either Han or Indy, so what does that mean in context to anything else he's done?
In general, most of the actors in the Star Wars saga really have nothing to write home about. To be fair however these movies are the type and written in a way that don't really challenge actors. Back 60 years ago, Star Wars was a B movie, it just happen to be release at the best possible time to become a MAJOR THING but really it never was, it was just one of those lucky thing that for some reason society needed it and they jumped on it and made it a lot more then it was.

Mark Hamill is the one who tried his best to give and effort in the originals. When you have to spend most of a movie acting with a rubber muppet and still sell it all I can say to you is KUDOS my friend, you did great.

Let's be honest, Ford walk's into the three movies with a bore look on his face. Fisher is mostly stone or drunk and everyone else, they just read the lines.

In the prequels I find only McGregor really tried his best to make a great Obiwan. Christensen was alright but I think a bit too young to pull off Vader with conviction (my opinion). My question is why Jackson wanted to play Windu so much if he spend the entire 6 movies looking like an idiot? I guess it's hard to act when you can't swear at every other words I know a lot of boys are so in love with Portman that they would not care but she did not really use much of her skills in these movies either.

Some of it is due to age, experiences, the director and the lines written for the movies. Overall however I never expected great acting skills to come out of Star Wars. They were nothing more then B movies 30 years ago that we all raise to A level and then expected even greater stuff for the prequels and starter to get mad when what we had built into our mind never happend on screen.

You could Always do it in a Charade at The Children's Hour (if you didn't pull a Funny Face when They All Laughed), or just have Two For The Road with Robin and Marian in Paris When It Sizzles, and listen to The Nun's Story while you try to work out How To Steal A Million.

I haven't been keeping track of this thread like most, so I don't know if it has already been discussed, but are these pics definitive depictions of the sets? Is the US really getting screwed out of disc art? If so, then that is adding insult to injury (the injury being the deplorable cover as compared to the separate trilogies... I know, dead horse topic there).

Can anyone confirm if this is still the case? I guess we'll all be finding out next week.

As far as the screenies go, I will wait til they're posted here... don't trust any other site.

I'm sure this has been mentioned already a dozen times but in case it hasn't, amazon.ca has reduced the price to $79.99 from $99.99

Just one week to go and Amazon's price stays $89.99 since day one. I'm hoping with more and more people canceling their pre-orders, Amazon will eventually drop the price. $74.99 would make me very happy already.

It's actually pretty common on AUS packaging. There was a fair bit of fuss when they were brought in -- which was simply ignored by the Powers That Be, in the time-honoured way of such things -- and it's largely died down now. People just shrug and accept it. Others are quite vocal in the "dear god, won't someone think of the children?!" approach to censorship (and on the back of similar alarmist issues, a new political party was formed -- the "Family First" party -- and even elected to Parliament, albeit in an extreme minority).

And others of us ... are still sulking. (And buying our stuff from overseas. )

The artwork seems a bit haphazard to me. Good that characters like Chewie and Lando get a look-in for once, but it seems odd that Luke, Leia, Han, Anakin and Padme are all left off the discs as well.

You have it already? How about a review? You've been quite neutral with your opinions in this thread, curious about what you think now that you actually have it.

I'm no expert but the Qui Gonn shot in TPM looks fine. Not the DNR scrubbed mess the screenshot would have us believe.

CGI Yoda is absolutely stunning, really really good.
