Honestly surprised they didn't go back in TPM and update those textures to match the improved CGI in AOTC and ROTS. CGI textures do sort of look rubbery compared to the other 2 PT movies.

Again, in the grand scheme of things, this never bothered me.

Chapter 44 Vaders redemption

The Father please is intact from Luke

The music is very high in this mix

The first no is loud and full of bass

The second no is just as loud

I think they sound good, certainly better than the youtube. Trouble is if you find it offensive, it will always be so.

The discs are cool, each has around 50 chapters and also have playback resume. Back to tpm.

So the Alien language subtitles are not centered on the screen?

I like this, wherever the character is on screen, they appear below them. If darth is left, his subs are left and if luke is right, his subs are right, even though they are on screen together.

If only George realised how much money there was to be made if he did a Original Trilogy remastered blu-ray set with the original cuts

I reiterate as well, 45 minutes into TPM and DNR is not visible. The detail is outstanding, as are the wrinkles on Qui-Gon's face that miraculously disappeared on the notorious screen shot. I have looked at that exact moment, and it is not anything like the screenshot.

Bear in mind though I am no expert on this
So happy to hear this, and it's exactly what I expected. The alleged screenshots will prove to be useless.

I've seen this done when you have subtitles for the hearing impaired but you are saying it does this even if you just have the default alien languages on (Jabba, Greedo, Watto, etc)?

Of course, this proves that there is absolutely NO way of ever doing a "branched" version of the films.

And here are the 2011 changes:
http://picasaweb.google.com/10254276...rs2011Changes#

Funny this glow effect from ANH i never noticed this in 2004 edition. But in these still shots is horrible. When you watch the movie it is so fast you hardly notice it. Its like glimpses of light

the changes isn't even that many at all and he fixed some of the errors. So its all good. Just not the NO....NOOOOOOO. That one is bad. but hardly anything to cancel the set for lol

We'll all see that people who go into this with an open mind will like it; the people with preconceived notions will not.

Hi Merlinpants,

Can I ask your opinions on TPM 3-way lightsabre battle with Darth Maul ?

That is one of my favourite sequences for audio, even on dvd the dynamic range was awesome together with the Duel Of The Fates music makes for a superb scene

I`d be interested to hear what AV-gear you`re putting through its paces with these discs ?

Cheers,
Dave

I had a feeling the pod race sequence would sound amazing.

Whenever you get the chance to watch SW, ESB, and ROTJ in their entirety, would you mind posting your thoughts on the music/dialogue/effects quality and their relation in the mix? Not to mention, video quality.

For me personally, what you've posted so far sounds great in terms of effects and dialogue quality and a disappointment musically, for me. I'm just curious if what you've sampled in SW(ANH) in relation to the music will carry throughout that film and the other two in the OT. I hope not.

Technically that's not true. Lucas removed a transition to the closeup of Anakin's robotic hand dragging his charred body up from the lava. In the DVD(and I presume Blu-ray), it cuts from Obi-Wan directly to the hand.

The transition is restored on the Blu-Ray.

Never mind. I just saw the post several pages back. Weird. I'm not a ROTS fan, so I didn't care about that change one way or another. I honestly thought Lucas did that on the DVD just so he could say he'd changed something.

Oh. My. God.

I guess the years and my overwhelming desire to make the PT something it isn't has dulled my memories of this movie.

That scene is LAUGHABLE. Even Ewan McGregor comes off like he's in a high-school play! When he says "Your new Empire??" it sounds like some voice Seth McFarlane does in Family Guy. Then Anakin's "don't make me kill you"... my god. I don't know if I can even buy this 'saga' anymore, I may just stick to the OT as per my original plans. This is seriously cringe-inducing stuff.

But I can't wait to see The Complete Saga of George Lucas' Original Vision™ in glorious remastered 1080p High Definition and 6.1 DTS HD Master audio on September 16th!

I love them despite the problems. I don't ignore them - I know they're there, I just don't let them ruin an otherwise good saga. I find it hilarious that people put so much time into hating them. To each his own.
