Pre-Order Price Guarantee Amazon.com's price for not-yet-released items sometimes changes between the time the item is listed for sale and the time it is released and shipped. Whenever you pre-order a book, CD, video, DVD, video game, or software item, the price we charge when we ship it to you will be the lowest price offered by Amazon.com between the time you place your order and the release date. The order summary in Your Account will reflect the lowest price within 24 hours of the price change. |

I think ANH and ROTS look look the best picture wise. A new hope has those outside shots in the dessert that look amazing. ROTS has really vivid colors and nice sharpness. The other movies look alright. I think attack of the clones looks the worst for some reason.

BB dropped the price of the Saga set to $79.99 on their site, so you probably don't need the Target ad. Just have them match their own price. Walmart dropped their price to $79.99 as well.

It was shot on a somewhat early HD video camera, when the technology wasn't quite 'there' for replicating film-like quality. I expect to see a lot of noise, a general lack of sharpness, etc. I actually disliked HD video cameras until the RED came along and raised the bar. |

Did Coppola go back and make changes to The Godfather? Did Spielberg make changes to Jaws, or Jurassic Park...? No. A film is not a software or Madden game that needs to be updated all the time... There are lots of ways Gl could have kept it "palatable" for new generations. The fact that he continues to do what he does tells me that he's a businessman first and a filmmaker second. Because no filmmaker in their right mind would endlessly revise their creation - without at least offering the original to the fans who helped make the film what it is today. |

Yeah, but even Amazon must have a limit on the number of copies it's holding in stock at any one time, and also the packed ones ready to ship. I would assume that the people cancelling and re-ordering are really only slipping themselves further down the queue.

To be fair, we don't know the answer to that question yet.
![]() He did make changes to E.T, of course. (And I wonder which version we'll get when that finally turns Blu. Or will we get both?) Quote:

Well, actually he did. He made some removals while the film was in theaters. He did the same to The Shining, which at one point was screening with an epilogue at a hospital.
A more valid argument isn't that Lucas made changes at all, but that the changes he made are just outlandishly silly. "Mos Eisely spaceport, where you will never find a more wretched hide of scum and villainy..etc..etc.." CUT TO Shot of a droid mocking another droid, cartoonishly like a child, and getting slammed like a Hannah-Barbara character. ![]() |

This conversation is getting tiresome and old. Give it up folks. Keep the versions you have of the "old" films, as you will never see them on Blu-Ray or the next medium. Case closed, move on please! |

I've always really liked that poster, though. It's the first Star Wars poster I ever saw, and it holds all the nostalgic memories for me -- regardless of how Frazetta-ish people think the representation of Luke and Leia might be.
If that had been the box art, I would have had no problem with it. The art they actually chose, I feel no personal resonance with at all. Last edited by MacEachaidh; 09-11-2011 at 08:13 AM. |

I'm sure this has been covered, but couldn't find the info easily...so here goes.
In the first post, it states that the UK version is region free. When I click the link, Amazon UK says it's region B/2. Did something change since it was originally posted? I like the UK version better since each disk has it's own place to snap into, and won't get damaged/scratched like the North American version where you have to slide the disc into it's slit. Thoughts? |
