I think a lot of people are buying this because they saw 4,5,6 when they were kids which was also a time of really nothing better in films as far as sci fi / action films.

Is anyone here really under the delusion that George Lucas knows how to tell a story let alone a saga?

Let's be honest here... the hype wagon can be a fun ride but I would hope the line is drawn with George Lucas and Star Wars.

Your 70 bucks would be much better spent on the Battles Galactica complete collection. Better acting, story telling and just an all around better product.

looking forward to it.

i just read an Amazon review knocking the release for poor color in scenes that LUcasfilm was put on notice 7 years ago. Vader's "bubble gum color" light saber, for example

Not according to THX.

Edit: Or George. My point is that there is no way for a film to blow someone away without the audio.

Windows didn't natively support DVD playback until Vista as well...and that was in no way due to MS being "anti-DVD". Once the HD DVD/BD war was decided MS dropped all resistance to the BD format.

Now compare this with Apple, where they were actually given a seat on the BDA. Apple did absolutely nothing and has been actively been trying to damage Blu-ray (Jobs called Blu-ray a "bag if hurt") by not only refusing support, but trying to cripple because it competes with iTunes and AppleTV.

What does this have to do with SW? Well it's ironic that they would make an app that lets people preview the BD bonus content on iDevices, which Apple hopes will eventually destroy physical media.

I never heard it on the VHS version though. But then VHS messed with a lot of the sounds.
I've compared it - the changes exist. The original did have an echo, but the effect is now different and it present for longer periods.

If you apologize quick,he might get in a good word for you Now I'm there too aren't I

Just can't stand modern business etiquette.Apple sues everyone, but have been known to breach patents too (Nokia). My dissapointment isn't exclusively directed towards Apple. This lawsuits I think is damaging progress, and some of the patents are clearly riding a blurred line between innovation and what should proper be in public domain. But that is going off-topic in a dangerous way.

Sorry for rant

Yeah. Always been there. Many who did not have full surround sound in previous releases will notice it if they do now.

Possibly, although I think I still may be misunderstood. The 'echo' has always been present on the different versions, but on the Blu-ray the actual echo-effect that has been used has a completely different sound to the original version, and echoes for longer/stronger. Its difficult to explain, but once you get the Blu-ray hopefully you'll see what I mean
