Opinions are subjective. Scientific analysis is not but as we've seen in this thread, people will but a gold nugget polished into a turd.
What scientific analysis?

Sounds like they had a marathon watching the movies and didn't fully analyze it. Eyes and ear got fatigued so issues got overlooked easily.
I see the review more of an overview of skimming of the movies that does not encompass pointing out obvious flaws.

Hey that is all good and wonderful and warm and fuzzy. My only problem was he just gave his opinion on the movies and several people on here bashed him for it, called him biased, and a Lucas fan boy with an agenda to push this set on unsuspecting people. I mean come on! You seem like a reasonable person, you have to agree that was uncalled for... lol

It really doesn't matter anymore anyways. The movies will be out for everyone soon and people will either love them or hate them, makes no difference to me. Trust me, I am not happy with the changes either but I still love Star Wars and am still looking forward to seeing the movies in Hi-Def

I for one think that reviewers should be hyper critical of this release. It deserves it.

If you are grading on 4 criteria and you average a 4.37, how can you give it a 5 out of 5? Just wondering......
Have you read reviews from other websites? I read a lot of video game and Blu Ray reviews and they never give an overall score as an average. The overall score is just that "overall". The reviewer looks at the release as a whole package and decides whether the pros outweigh the cons and swings the overall score one way or another. Most of my professors in college did this all the time for determining our final grade. Almost like grading on a curve. Casey obviously thought that this release as a whole package deserved 5/5.

Aka... "The review wasn't significantly outraged in my opinion. So therefore, it's not valid."

My introduction to the saga occurred when the first movie had just been released in 1977. It was one of the few bright spots during a summer that was a difficult period for me, and I returned to the theater to see it many times. Consequently, the movie at that time known simply as "Star Wars" will always be one of my favorites.

Exactly. And while I'll disagree with him about his opinion of the Prequels and such, his review was more than fair and balanced.

Don't act like "one side" of this argument is somehow more noble, I've seen just as much mud-slinging from either side.

I have no stance on the movies yet because I have not seen them. When I do I will have my own opinion then just like everyone else will have.

And why is it when someone makes an opinion on something its "biased"?? I mean just because he didn't agree with your take on the movies that makes it "bias"? That is just ridicules. lol
A lot of members of this site defended the PQ of the original Gladiator release so I'm convinced that some people will "see" & buy anything they want to and overlook serious issues even the studios thought required correction.

I'll be getting the complete saga, but I'm glad the PQ is apparently better on the originals. I grew up on those and consider them movies, whereas the prequels play out more like video games.

Very true, I totally agree with that. Sad, but true.

I just realized this set doesn't even include the "Empire of Dreams" Documentary from the 2004 DVD's...

I still want to know what "Scientific Analysis" HDPlasma preforms for his PQ scores...

Yep. Gotta hold onto your past releases if you want all the extras.

Lucas tends to almost never carry over extras from one release to the next. Which I have to appreciate.

Might as well break out the DVD.
Those with projectors, large screens and adequate viewing distance will still suffer from the PQ and storyline changes.
wow this is just aburd and from the review on this site the reviewers agree with me. I got and they look incredible on a 50 inch screen. i think that is a good size in screen size and i am sure the reviewers has watched them on larger screens and they don't complain

I'm not sure where the original poster is located but here in the UK blinkers is the common term for what Americans call blinders.

Yeah I'm upset about this too. I would have liked to have at least EoD and the trailers in HD. A 10th disc would have been very nice.

But for now I'll have to make my own 10th disc from my LaserDisc & DVD release extras! I'm just thankful I have my own copy of 'From Star Wars to Jedi' and 'The Making of The Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition' on DVD. *thank you DVD recorder*

Maybe they'll release them online or via BD-Live... but I doubt it. It's a shame too, but at least we got some other rare documentaries from the early days.

I think that idea is complete bull....and yet, I hear it all the time from posters who have larger displays than the average customer.
i call crap as well. It is just ridiculous to state otherwise
