my take on the IV Jabba scene - yes it does feels repetive but then again it gives me the feel that Han Sole has gotten so comfort with these words that he says it to all he meets

In my opinion, it has by far the best picture quality of the whole saga, and the audio is very good, but it doesn't come close to matching the audio on TPM and AotC.

I find it kind of odd that the newest movie has the most disappointing audio. It's not bad, it's just not anywhere near as good as 1 & 2.

Also, I have not had any audio problems so far.

I've watched all 6 movies and I have no problem with quality of Audio or Video, a giant improvement over the DVD versions, I think TPM looks great I compared it to the DVD and I mean it's like a new movie. Of course AOTC and ROTS are Superb! and to think I almost wasnt going to purchase these ( I'm a slave to SW what can I say! )

Anyone else have this issue on their AOTC disk?
Probably answered six times already, but yeah there were two pixilated scenes. Apparently a Panasonic thing. The other was around 1:19:29. (Watched the two scenes on Oppo subsequently, and no sign of any problems.)

I see. Will have this in mind when I check my discs tomorrow. No doubt about the PQ though.

Generally, I don't find the sound lacking on the Revenge of the Sith DVD, only that it has no sound effect in particular that stands out, The Phantom Menace has the podrace and Attack of the Clones the seismic charges, but overall all three sounds fantastic, I can only imagine how it sounds in lossless 6.1.

15 dB? That's quite a jump. In my setup a 5 dB increase is significantly louder. I'll check but I guess I don't have to really look for it I would instantly know when it happens.

So is there an official list of these audio problems yet? I want to check my discs and make sure. I didn't notice anything the first time I watched them but I am kind of a retard when it comes to audio. I tend to not notice a lot of things until people point them out.

I think most local retailers will be selling it at $129.99ish. I'd imagine amazon would probably be priced less, but still, a little higher than $89.99

I am not using any normalization features and had no issues with varying audiolevels within each film. The DTS HD MA tracks seem lower in volume than the industry standard, usually play at -6 to -9 db, but here went up to -2 to 0 db on select episodes.
Never had any issues with dialogue vs music either, but kept remote close when I knew massive bass was approaching just in case.
Had system at 100%++ entire time

Watched episode V for the first time ever last night, it was incredible. The beginning on the ice planet, the Battle of Hoth, the forest scenes, and the Vader duel were amazing. I'd like an extended version with more training scenes between Luke and Yoda.

As for the Yoda puppet I think they did a pretty good job. Maybe I'll change my mind though when I watch the PT for the first time.

Episode VI this evening

I'm comparing the laserdiscs mixes with the new one on the OT... the new ones are crappy. The sound is deafening as in LOUDNESS WAR deaf mixed.

GOUT all the way.

And you can "own" an HDTV broadcast in a way, by DVR'ing it as it airs.

Has anyone seen an HDTV vs. BD comparison yet for the OT?
If someone can link me to some HDTV screenshots I can do a comparison with the BD.

Regarding The Phantom Menace bluray, the video and audio are excellent, but the dated CGI characters look better on DVD. Jar Jar Binks, Watto, boss nass look awful. The battle droids looked good though - not cgi-ish. The clarity and crispness makes them seem more disconnected on film - the "bluriness" of the dvd has an advantage in that sense. Yoda looks good though but still obviously cgi. I was more impresses with Nute Gunray - i always thought he and his cronies were cgi, but on bluray - arent those costumes?

I was also impressed how Shmi looked on blu - she waa actually slightly hot, and she looks a lot better on Blu.

The movie itself is an absolute bore though still. I cant watch this film without falling asleep - usually my eyes start feeling droopy during the not-exciting boring and repetetive pod racing scenes. I only like the Palpatine and Darth Maul scenes.

The acting by lloyd, portman, Best, Jackson, and Lloyd's friends are more distractingly bad in menace then the acting by Hayden and Jackson in the following films.

And I am a big fan of Rick Olie - that guy dont get no respect. I want to start the Rick Olie fan club!

Finished the Original Trilogy archival bonus disc this morning and what's so amazing about both archival bonus discs is that, essentially, Lucas has given fans a digital museum of the artifacts that brought the Saga to life.

I would totally go to a Star Wars Museum if they ever did one to see these concept galleries and models up close, but it's nice to know that fans have a digital copy of these things at home.

This set is more comprehensive than many want to give it credit for. There's just a lot of stuff on these discs.
