So you are saying these Star Wars Blu-ray PQ's aren't perfect?. If you are not happy with these I don't see you happy with ANYTHING.

I don't see why the same can't be true for those to like them all. Considering how much some people (such as yourself) around here keep pushing the idea that you have to like all 6 films almost equally to be a "true fan", I could see some people feeling like they have to put up that front to not be considered a non-fan.

This is just another amongst many ridiculous and flawed (and often wrong) blanket statements that you've made about the overall fandom.
What is your problem, man! You loco?

As I've pointed out before, I find it a little odd to call yourself a "fan" if you only like half of something or even hate the thing. I've only heard that in connection with Star Wars: "the fans must hate some of these movies and protect the other movies from their creator!?" FAN is derived from "fanatic" - someone who likes something without critizism - that's why I don't care for the term at all. You can call yourself what you will, but please don't freak out if some people get confused by your misuse of the word "fan".

You should get your hearing checked.

A huge segment (I would guess a fairly solid majority) of Alien fans hate exactly exactly half the movies in that franchise.

Star Trek fans routinely (and often viciously) trash Voyager and Enterprise and will tell anybody willing to listen exactly why the odd numbered movies suck.

Many Bond fans hated Roger Moore. Or Timothy Dalton. Or Pierce Brosnan. Some hate Daniel Craig. (One guy in the Netherlands said he hated Sean Connery but nobody believed him).

How many Indiana Jones fans love all four movies? How many hate Crystal Skull or Temple of Doom?

A lot of Batman fans hated Batman and Robin and Batman Forever. A lot of X-Men fans hated The Last Stand and Wolverine. A lot of Superman fans hated III and IV.

And don't get me started on Godfather III.

Very Well Put!!.....and the list of franchises with unacceptable sequels/prequels could go on. I love Star Wars warts and all and for me to hear someone say that you can't be a "true fan" if you don't embrace the entire saga of films smacks of arrogance.

But at what becomes a word so casual and random in its use that it it's meaning? And I have to disagree. When I hear someone say that he is a "Bond-Fan" he is most likely to like all the movies, maybe even the books with all their highs and lows.

So if you hear someone is a Batman fan, even though there are radical differences depending on where someone may have been introduced to the character, and they don't embrace every incarnation of Batman then they really are not a fan? That's incredibly flawed and short sighted thinking.

Its not too bad, there is alot of DNR and I'd have liked the grain intact, but this is the best TPM has ever looked. The DVD was just horrible.

Not to reawaken the beast again but....no, I don't think so. To me, watching the prequels today is a chore. And I sure am not going to overpay for a few deleted scenes and Star Wars: the Joan Rivers edition.

I would get the OT only if I would REALLY get an offer I couldn't refuse - like maybe $20 for the whole thing.

If you thought EP I & II were a 5/5 then your in store for a real treat for the rest of the set!!! Regardless of you opinion of the PT, I & II were easily the worst looking two of the set (not bad, just not as good as the rest ) The "popular opinion" seems to be that TPM is the worst looking but IMO AOTC looks the worst. Again not bad, just the worst of the set, I think it has to do with it being recorded digitally on (at the time) new technology ... the movie just looks like a bunch of different "elements" cut and pasted together into one picture. And yes, the people that skipped out definatly lost out on this

Man, you ar so way of off it unbelievable! I'm well into my 40's, I've been a Star Wars fan since the age of 7, and I don't particularly like most of what the prequels have to offer! As I said, I was a fan way before the new films, it's not my fault they (PT films) disappoint (me), that doesn't stop me from being a fan, albeit of the OT far more than the PT, but a Star Wars fan none the less. I've read a few great EU novels, and a few stinkers too, but I have the freedom to choose what I like, and because I'm a fan, that allows me to make a clear judgement on what or why I like, or dislike them.

When all is said and done, it's not up to me, you ar anyone else to judge, for whatever reason, at what level we can be fans based on what we like.

Now get back in your crate, and stop making a mess!

I hated Dalton and the guy from OHMSS

*but I'd still watch them (except OHMSS )

I'm more a franchise guy and don't believe just because you get 1 or 2 great movies that a series/ franchise should just stop to preserve the perceived greatness.

I'd love to see more Star Wars movies between 3 and 4 (just have a young vadar powning jedi he hunts down) and even pop up some new sith and bring everyone back for a 7 (And I’m well aware I’m probably in the minority )

Although I dont agree with all of your examples(Roger Moore is the best Bond) your point is well-taken.

I disagree completely! I think Episode III is by far the worst transfer. There is digital noise all over this picture. At first I thought I had a bad disc, but I've exchanged it for another copy and it still has the terrible digital snow in all the same scenes! I've played the disc with 3 different Blu-ray players on 2 separate HDTV's with the same problem. It's the only disc that has this problem for me. Episodes I & II look especially fantastic though on my Sony.

I'm in my early 30s and I'm not little.

First of all the comment on the overlapping discs is a genuine concern (or at least would be for me if they were my discs). There are cases that use the flap that will better protect the discs (in fact, by coincidence, I happened to pick up some 4-disc DVD cases with flap at a local store for my own use yesterday prior to even seeing your post). If you feel fine keeping your discs in that kind of packaging and potentially risk them getting scratched, that is your choice.

The comment about using the OT bonus discs cover was more or less joking, but was sort of in response to a previous comment you had made sometime back. I seem to recall someone posting some custom artwork for the Blu-Rays that split the set into 3 3-disc cases, one for each "trilogy" (identifiying them as the OT and PT) and one for the bonus features discs, and you complimented the effort itself, but went on a rant about how it's all one saga now and how you wouldn't even buy the BDs if they came in packaging that identified them as separate trilogies, etc. Based on what a childish hissy fit you had over that (which makes you calling out other people on how old they are very ironic), I found it surprising that you would be willing to put your PT bonus DVDs in an OT case.

And based on some info that I've become pivy to, you might also want to be very careful about who you go around calling (or imlpying to be) childish.

And as I have pointed out before, I don't hate every aspect of the PT... there are things about the movies that I do like... but do feel on the whole that the PT overall is largely inferior to the OT. And while Lucas obviously created all of SW and is the connecting glue between the two trilogies, the respective trilogies were still made under very different circumstances and (save for a very small handful of exceptions) with mostly different people working with/for Lucas to get the films made. These differences are noticable in the end product IMO.

As others have stated, someone hating the movie "Batman & Robin" doesn't mean that they aren't a Batman fan in general, or of the other films like the Tim Burton movies (which are part of the same continuity as B&R) or the newer Nolan series. They just didn't like that movie. I know that you disagree, but some people see "The Phantom Menace" with all of Jar Jar's antics to more or less be the "Batman & Robin" of the Star Wars Saga.

Also, the "half" that some people "only" like was the "whole" for about 20 years. Adding additional chapters that long after the fact (even chapters that were tentatively expected to come out sooner or later) is going to cause some degree of mixed reactions. But then when those new chapters turn out like the PT did, particularly Episode 1, naturally not everyone is going to like it, and many people reacted negatively to it upon seeing it. To say that they suddenly stop being fans at that moment when they've been die hard SW fans for years up until that point is pretty absurd.
