Yes it is, with people trying to force (pardon the pun) their opinions on others.

Stating their "preferences" as fact.

You don't like the SE changes, fine. Other people do. Live with it.

Well that's funny, because someone over on the Next Generation thread tried to do exactly what you just stated.

But in fact, when the situation became reversed, that individual suddenly mounted themselves up on their high horse and declared that the other person was in the wrong. Double standards anyone?

You're so easy to aggravate, Pete. You can't even take jokes. You might as well put an big button on your profile that reads: Sci-fi Revisionism: Press this Button to P*** Me Off.

Just completed The Phantom Menace, the first of my new year weekend marathon of Star Wars. I was hoping to maybe star Attack Of The Clone tonight but Harry Potter put me a bit behind

Will probably have time for Attack Of The Clone and Revenge Of The Sith tomorrow. With nothing to do on Sunday I will be able to complete the other three in one day.

I'm living with it, I don't necessarily like it...but I don't rail at the remastering team comparing their work to festering open sores and the like. Don't mistake stating an opinion with "getting on a high horse". I would never attack someone for disagreeing about what was/wasn't done with a TV show/film.

I also don't start comparing producer/directors to Hitler either...

I will still gladly purchase the HD remaster of ST:TNG, old starships and all. Just as I purchased this Star Wars: The Complete Saga set.

I didn't. I compared altering art to altering history. Someone else then tried to claim it wasn't the same (even though I gave three examples in two posts). Since art is a snapshot of history through the examination of social and personal attitudes from the era it comes out of, I disagreed--changing art is EXACTLY like changing history.

But again, I am not a purist, and like you there are some situations in film that I don't like but have to live with.

But that doesn't mean I can't have fun being cynical about it.

Sorry if this has been discussed;

but I got this set, and just started watching it. Does anybody else have issues with the menus taking FOREVER to load?

Also, at first when putting in disc 1, the menu background was there and just looped - but no menu options. I took the disc out, then reinserted it, and now the menu options were visible.

What the dillio? anybody else having disc issues with the star wars bluray menus?

Guys, these aren't Hitchcock films. Just sit back and enjoy the wonderful transfers we were given and stop knit-picking the plot over and over

Please?
You're beginning to understand that no one actually likes Star Wars. Non-fans think it's nerdy child crap, while fans stick around and enjoy what's here to fulfill their masochistic needs of self-loathing...see: every star wars thread on the internet.

I've played it on three players thus far, my ps3 slim and asus PC player, and my family's player, that's a Sony brand...I forget what model. My ps3 crashed once trying to play Jedi, but restarting it fixed it. Never had any problems beyond that.

If you enjoy fantasy/scifi you may enjoy these but if it's a style of movies you don't really like the chnces are you may not like them very much.

The Blu-ray release, even if some disagre, are quite amazing but it's a bit much as a blind buy.

If you're looking to watch an entire Star Wars movie, maybe the blu ray set isn't the set you should buy...

haha i didn't really mean that post as i was thinking of picking up the set. more of just a commentary. this thread is 2000+ pages or whatever, i mean i know theres a lot of star wars fans out there, but jeez 2000 over a blu-ray set? just thought i'd continue to add to the massive thread with a little commentary

also, surprisingly not many said i was weird for not seeing the movie(s). i expected numerous responses like "what!?!" "are you serious?" etc. lol. appreciate people not jumping on my case over it haha

WHAT? You have never watched a single SW movie? Have you been living under a rock, or hiding in a cave for the past 34 years???????

[Show spoiler]Just messing with you.

Check out one of the movies, and then decide.

It's probably quite a dumb question but I'll ask anyway, lol.

I got this for my birthday yesterday and gave them a quick spin, but I found that the audio is really quiet and that I have to turn the TV up quite a bit to hear anything that anyone says. I'm assuming that's because I'm using the two built-in speakers (Yes, audiophiles. I know, know. ) and the only audio option I can find for the movies is 6.1.
So, is there anything I can do either on the discs, player or TV to fix this? It's pretty annoying to have to have the remote in-hand to constantly turn the volume up and down the whole time.
