so I guess it's safe to say it's okay to go ahead and buy the complete saga now? lol

saying that there will be an episode 7 kinda assumes it will take place after episode 6. so yeah not a reboot. but who can say?

According to the press release, the movie is indeed tentatively titled Star Wars Episode 7, though that will undoubtedly be updated to include a subtitle. As for a script, a treatment has been written by Michael Arndt, based on the updated sequel trilogy treatment by George Lucas that was part of Disney's purchase. It's set after ROTJ, so it is no doubt a continuation of the existing saga, and reportedly the story calls for Hamill, Ford, and Fisher to reprise their roles in some capacity (assumed to be minor).

Though apparently Disney is hoping to bring Vader back from the dead...

Someone asked about the packaging:

I passed on it because I didn't like how they're packaged.

This, the Alien Anthology, and the Indiana Jones Complete Saga sets are great..

Especially for a collector who isn't concerned about the sleeves because they're most careful with their discs anyway.

Packaging like that damages the disks ... I just think that studios could have come up with a better packaging design.

This set has been out for over a year. The packaging should be well known my now.

Will the Disney logo before the film have tinker bell with a lightsaber? I sure hope so!

I can see them having a modified Disney intro à la Prince of Persia or Tron Legacy... Perhaps there's a turret on the Death Star shaped like Cinderella's castle, as X-Wings and TIE fighters fly by. Or maybe there's an adobe clay building resembling Cinderella's castle sitting in the deserts of Tatooine with twin suns in the background. If the Star Wars movies get a Disney logo customized as much as it was for Tron Legacy, I'd think it'd have to be based on Tatooine or the Death Star (or less likely Yavin IV), those being the locations of the original movie.

She'll have a lightsaber alright. But it won't be the one you're referencing...

I sure hope not, putting those would cheapen it in my opinion. Except for the twin suns, and maybe put the castle in the middle of Tattoine desert, and the camera is static with no animation at all, all in golden tint (sunset) dissolving into the Lucasfilm logo. And since there won't be a Fox fanfare, just make it quiet until the title card/crawler text appear with the title theme breaking the silence. How's that for a geek imagination.

I think that's not a mistake, she wants the company to be more active in the movie industry, not necessarily Star Wars. Maybe original animations (they practically made Rango), musicals, comedies, etc. How many movies have Lucasfilm made so far outside of Star Wars and Indiana Jones?

An the original cast returns!

So with this whole Disney thing... I wonder if that means there's a higher chance that we could get the original version of the original trilogy on Blu-ray. That would be amazingggg!

Yeah, I think the Tatooine idea is better than the Death Star idea. Especially if it's a largely silent title card (at most, just a desert wind), since Legacy's was also silent for the most part.

Actually, I'm really curious now as to how that might look... 3D animators? Go!

Or they could show the current Disney castle logo, all nice and pretty, and suddenly, the Death Star laser blows it all up!

And we Mickey's ears flying to the screen, where they stick on for a few seconds and then slide off with a blood trail.. oh wait .

But it's a fun idea. As are the Tatooine/Death Star ideas as the Disney logo's. Maybe they will use some ambient sounds (maybe something akin to the old THX logo..) before the Star Wars fanfare. All in all, there are probably more important things to worry about then a corporate logo before the movie .
