Why can't they leave well enough alone? I would much rather none of the original cast return.

Those are two completely different rumours. The first has a plausible source, while the latter is pure baseless rumour to get more views.

Indeed. But doesn't justify anything that can be said today. He wanted the character to die because he felt his story arc was over by Empire.

I don't care if they kill off Han, heck they could kill off Luke and Leia if they did it right, but I hope it's not in the first 20 minutes. lol

I always loved the irony how some actors want to kill off the character that made them a star.

To be fair, oftentimes it's because they don't want anyone else to play their character.

There's no irony there, it's actually good business. Memorable character, more memorable for dying despite popularity, often increases the actor's kudos and chances of other roles; repeating character, subject to diminishing returns and highlighting actor's increasing age, depletes actor's kudos and can even stop him from getting other strong roles. I know which one I'd pick!

Amazon has the Original Trilogy going for $29.99.

Should I jump on it, or do you think that the price will continue to drop?

I wouldn't obsess about possible future price drops. Ten bucks per movie is more than reasonable, considering the movies.

So much for the Complete Saga going down. It is at $134.99 on amazon.com right now. I was just about to order it for a relative but for that price they are getting something else.

Does anyone think that TPM actuelly potentially could have been the best looking Star War's film in terms of PQ? I mean it was given a brand new colour timing that looked great and without the coat of DNR, with the good looking cinematography and with it being the last Star War's film to be shot with traditional 35mm with naturally more advanced camera stocks and filters that were used for the OT in the 70's and 80's, seeing as film has a higher resolution with more detail then digital, it definitely could have been the stand out IMO.

I personally hate the movie itself, but its interesting to think just how good it could have looked if Lucus didn't try to cheaply connect it with DNR manipulation to give the so-called "digital illusion" since the other 2 prequels were shot with digital cameras. I mean I can understand the motivation to do it (CGI Yoda being another example) but it actuelly restrains TPM individually.

To be honest, I'd like to see all six films go through a very detailed remastering process to clean up the film. Not necessarily DNR, but some detailed work to clean up the PQ and AQ problems with the film. Not to mention returning the original "Han Shot First Scene".

Now that Disney own them (yes, I know Fox has distribution rights) I think we will see them soon.

YES YES YES!! I held off on buying the blu-ray box set waiting for the price to go down. Now I'm going to have to wait even longer. I really do hope that Disney gives every Star Wars fan what they want. The original trilogy on blu-ray without anything added to it. I want to see the movie I saw in 1977, the one I walked 5 miles to go see and that I paid for with rolls of pennies (no I was not bare foot and it was not snowing). The one without the "Episode IV A New Hope" on the scrawl. The one where the General says to Luke "If you're half as good a pilot as your father was you'll do fine". The one where Han (and only Han) shoots. I've been waiting 35 years to see that again, hopefully it'll happen before I move on and become one with the Force. And hopefully I won't have to walk 5 miles to get them and pay for them in rolls of pennies again.

Happy Holidays All

George Lucas might put a clause somewhere in the purchase agreement to prevent that. But I'm with you guys, hopefully we'll see a release someday.

George is not a powerhouse like Disney. I think one of the reasons George may not have released both is because he would've been strapped financially to release both, as in giving it the restoration and transfer it deserves.

I'm sorry but that is BS. Lucas' net worth prior to the Disney sale was 3 Billion
dollars. However he maintained that the cost to restore the original trilogy was
prohibative. Truth is he just did'nt want to spend the money. The upside to the
disney buyout of Lucasfilm os Disney won't cheapout like the Beard did!.
