Natalie Wood is dead, but with Natalie Portman's performances in the prequels she might as well have been too.

It's Portman, not Wood.

Ok, I thought so, but there could have been an old movie where she played "A" Jane Foster...

i thought she did okay. she was always hanging out with emotionless jedi so i think thats why she acted how she did. she would have been a fun party girl if she hung out with the Sith.

I always wondered about this. I know the new Clone Wars show was originally sold as fitting into a gap in those shorts. I don't think anyone knew how long the show would go on, and it's to the point where there are probably fans of TCW that don't even know the shorts exist. Those things are long gone now and I thought the new show did itself a disservice by trying to comform to a bunch of silly 5 minute Cartnoon Network shorts.

Did the producers ever comment on the canonicity?

Little known fact: All of James Earl Ray's voice work for Vader was done from behind bars. Otherwise he might has actually been in the suit instead of Robert Shaw. No wait, that was the actor whose face was seen. It was David Keith in the suit right? Or Keith David? Man I always get those two confused. And then Josh Lucas replaced Robert Shaw's ghost at the end of ROTJ with Hayden Pantyierre. Gotta be a record for the most number of actors involved in playing one character. Oh, and don't forget Christopher Lloyd as Anakin in eps 1. "Great scott! I'm going to be a Jedi!"

Okay. Can this one end it now?

I know what those are, but what I'm saying is this show had no excuse to not lead into RotS, since the point of this show was to tell stories from the Clone Wars and bridge the movies together.

I don't need to understand the characters and their actions in the movies though when Obiwan and Anakin are all that matter.'

Season six on Netflix fixes the issue with TCW not leading into ROTS for me. It still doesn't directly lead into ROTS, but at least the final arcs in season six give closure to many of the big story lines. But hey, the show doesn't take place right after AOTC either. It begins a few months into the war and ends a few months before the end of the war.
See, I watched the final episode of S6 and there was nothing in there to indicate that Coruscant was about to be invaded and Palpatine was not kidnapped.

You seem to forget the last 4 chapters of the original micro-series which lead up to ROTS. It goes like this:

-AOTC
-CW Micro-Series Chapters 1-21
-CW Movie/TV Series
-CW Micro-Series Chapters 22-25
-ROTS

The S2 DVD comes with a featurette about the specific link it has to Ep III (S2 literally leads into the movie) and it has an interview with Lucas IIRC.

You're dead wrong about the "silly" part, but I think you're right about how some fans of CW don't even know that TCW exists, or at least they haven't seen them; "I know what those are" isn't the most convincing of responses.
