Guess the second day.One surely can't go through 6 movies twice with all that extra and still be coherent enough to write a post?...

1. The Phantom Menace
2. Attack Of The Clones
3. Revenge of the Sith
4. A New Hope
5. The Empire Strikes Back
6. Return of the Jedi

Is that the order I should watch them? Or should I watch them by their release date, which would be #4, #5, #6, #1, #2, #3?
You should definitely watch them by their release date. If you watch the prequels first, some things in original trilogy isn't as exiting anymore.

I recommend watching them by plot timeline(like I do) only for those who has seen them already.

But watch the originals first, and you get much more out of them (Not sure if I used the right words for what I meant, english isn't my first language).

Yeah if you have NEVER seen them before, go with release order, but be cautious the first movie is dated but still amazing. Empire Strikes Back is still the best though so no matter what order you watch it should get the most play on repeat viewings.

IF you have already seen them and depending on where you stand on the Prequels I think everyone should watch them in number order because you already know every detail your not missing the big reveal and if you dislike the prequels watching them first gets them out of the way and you can save the best for last. If you do it the other way you are setting yourself up for disappointment. IF you like the prequels more then release order makes sense because again saving the best for last but if you think the prequels are the best you got some growing up to do.

I like all six and I have seen them so many times the first viewing only will be number order because I want to have a big marathon, from there it will be once a month whichever one I am in the mood for, usually Empire Strikes Back or The Phantom Menace.
The only one I have major issues with and will watch just the once and not likely again is Attack of the Clones, it is the only one I just have the hardest time watching it. I should clarify I love the original to death but it is the one I have seen the most so I tend to not watch it as much anymore.

yes it only had had 350 special effects to TESB 450. Why do people keep saying that SW is dated? Dated as compared to what?

1,2,3,4,5,6 is the only order I watch them in. You guys talk about there being no surprises if you watch the PT first, but who on Earth doesn't know who Luke Skywalker's father is?

All three releases(OT, PT, Complete) will have slipboxes, not slipcovers. Hope that helps.

If the first SW movie I ever saw was Episode I, I'd have no interest in seeing the rest of the series.

TPM had a nice slathering of EE applied and riddled with blocking. So I would assume no matter what, that will be gone with the Blu Ray release.
If you click on the pics, it will direct you to a 2K image.

1-2-3-4-5-6 all the way, but it'll be more complicated than that. For the first time ever, I'll watch everything in chronological order, meaning I'll also watch the Clone Wars animated micro-series, the Clone Wars movie and seasons 1-2-3 CGI series, the Droids and the Ewoks animated DVDs, the Holiday Special and the two Ewoks movies.

My girlfriend is going to be so annoyed by that!

I'm of course going to watch them in story order. 1-2-3-4-5-6. Which is great, since The Phantom Menace is my favorite.

Each to their own, and I did quite like TPM and the rest of the PT.

I will probably go 1-6, just because the originals are my favorite....sort of save the best for last if you know what I mean.
