I've never heard 5.1 Audio from Laserdisc, but I have heard many times that the Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio Mix on the 1997 Special Edition Laserdisc of Star Wars was superior than the Dolby Digital 5.1 EX Mix that was created for the 2004 DVD. Hopefully the DTS-HD 6.1 MA Audio Mix on the new Blu-Ray of Star Wars will fix all the Audio Issues the 2004 DVD Had.

Luckily there never complaints of any Audio Issues with the Dolby Digital 5.1 EX Mixes created for the 2004 DVDs of The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi.

Actually Episode I is the only SW film I've seen, and I'm dying to watch the rest of the movies. Them coming out on blu-ray finally convinced me to watch them.

I have played Star Wars: Rogue Leader many years ago on the Nintendo Gamecube and loved that game. I might end up getting some Star Wars games for the 360 and the PS3 later this year.

I have no clue why I haven't watched or played anything Star Wars related besides Episode 1 and SW: Rogue Squadron, but I look forward to doing so in the following months.

I know Chris. He's a good guy...but I wouldn't be surprised if "incomplete" meant that that Boba Fett featurette wasn't included

Kinda the same with me. I have only seen episodes I and VI. Never found the time to actually go and rent them and spend the time on watching the rest, but this set will hopefully change that. If it doesn't, I will still have the set so when the time does come I will be ready.

That's not looking for an argument. That's being accurate. If you had wanted people to ignore the obvious and only agree with you, then you should have said that and we could have all done that and moved along.
I can obviously see the contrast issue. But those pics aren't actually from the blu-ray, so I was just saying that they look nice and sharp, in my opinion.
I'm not going to keep arguing with you about this. I think we both know what happens when people keep trying to convince someone else to change their opinion.

As Adywan suggested, the HD shots are incorrectly captured, and not expanded to full-range RGB from 16-235. There's nothing but compression noise below 16 and or above 235. It's a very common video capture error.

My plan as well.

And for the record, based on what we've seen so far, the Blu version > all

It's not uncommon for LD 5.1 mixes to sound better than 5.1 DVD or even BD mixes. Almost all Laserdiscs have an uncompressed digital stereo track. If you're listening in stereo, this is what you listen to. That means the 5.1 mix was dedicated to getting the most out of a 5.1 setup.

Most DVDs/Blu-rays today only have 5.1 audio. This audio mix has to sound good on anywhere from a single speaker up to 5 speakers and a subwoofer, so some sacrifices have to be made so that all viewers can enjoy the audio.

This wasn't the case for Laserdisc. The stereo was for people with one or two speakers, the 5.1 mix was for those with surround sound. If you tried to play the 5.1 mix in stereo, it would not sound very good.

I love the stereo audio simply because it's uncompressed. Phantom Menace on LD has one of the best audio mixes I've ever heard. Very impressive.

The official line is that it's still the Special Edition. Unless they're trying to play it as some big surprise or something.
