I hope we get the deleted scene from the theatrical AotC with his flesh hand in the wedding. I think the mechanical one was only shown in 35mm version.
The only difference between the theatrical and the IMAX version is that Anakin holds Padme's hand with his mechanical hand in the IMAX version. The original theatrical one, it simply remains at his side. They had extra time to prep the IMAX release, so that's why the change is there. He was always meant to hold her hand in the release version. Just there wasn't time to finish the shots for the standard theatrical release.

IIRC, in early stages of ROTS script, Yoda told Padmé that "the Force is strong with her"..

the mechanical one was only shown in the digitally projected version and imax- as it was a last minute change- since it was digital he could submit the most complete version of the film later than he could the film versions- and the imax version came out much after the theatrical debut

and technically the mechanical arm is in all edits, but padme holds hands with the mechanical one in the digital version-

i highly doubt that will be a deleted scene as it was just a small change and not a scene-

After looking through HTF's post regarding the set, I am very excited for the set. Much more than I was before!

I'm also in the minority here; I love the packaging. Looks great to me.

it was in the digital release as well, that came out the same day as the film theatrical prints which was way before the imax version-

You're right. God, it's been too long since AotCs in theater. I forgot about the Digital Release Versions.

Pretty sure there was a deleted scene that explains why their lightsabers were swapped, it happened sometime during the fight. I remember some kind of explanation I was satisfied with.

But far be it from me to disrupt the intelligent exchanges happening in here...

I knew this question would be lost in the constant childish scuffle but once again: Does the US set come with a slipbox??

yeah, its funny, i remember how excited i was to see it digitally back in 02-

now when i am unlucky enough to catch a film in a digital theater i want to get my money back-

that being said, AOTC being a digital to digital projection and watching it on the high-end texas instruments projector probably made it a better experience than watching movies on the new and usually uncalibrated digital projectors of today-

1) Luke's lightsaber during the Falcon scenes. On the DVD, the outer glow changes from green in one shot, to white in another, then to blue in the last.
Probably fixed, since they said they went back and fixed the lightsabers.

2) The Emperor's hologram in "Empire". Will they be using the 2004 version, or has it been reshot to match with "Jedi"?
Doubtful. The only reason they shot this scene with Ian McDiarmid in the first place was because they already had him in the makeup during ROTS.

3) From what I've seen, the square panels on R2-D2 seem to switch from blue to black in some shots, and vice versa.
Surprised they never fixed this. It was shot that way due to the use of a blue-screen, but seems like an easy fix.

4) In many 2004 shots during the Death Star battles in "New Hope" and "Jedi", you can clearly see matting boxes around the TIE Fighters, as well as a few Rebel ships.
Same as the last one. I can't believe they haven't fixed this. Going back and fixing the junk mattes with a computer is easy! Much easier than making Greedo shoot first.

5) In "Sith", Anakin speaks to Padme on Mustafar about his actions. His lips say, "I've done things no Jedi ever has, and I've done it for you, to protect you". However, his voice says, "I'm doing things no Jedi ever has, and I'm doing it for you, to protect you".
I can't believe I never noticed this before. Listening on my headphones, I can even hear where the ADR edit comes in. Damn!

6) Obi-Wan's line to Anakin, "only a Sith deals in absolutes", doesn't make any narrative sense at all, since the Jed are pursuing absolute justice against the Sith. Has it been altered, or removed?
How about the fact that "only a Sith deals in absolutes" IS an absolute?

7) Has the longer "scuffle fight" scene between Obi-Wan and Anakin been restored, explaining why each of them have the other's lightsaber in a few shots?
Doubt it, but I wouldn't mind seeing it. Also wouldn't mind them just removing the error with a computer. (make the lightsaber consistently Obi-Wan's.)

8) Will the issue of Leia's memories be addressed in the new edit, since Luke specifically asks about her "real mother"?
HIGHLY doubt it. That would require changing Jedi. Lucas would need a sound alike to ADR the scene. Carrie Fischer sounds nothing like Princess Leia anymore. They would also need to digitally animate her mouth. I've never seen this look good in other movies. Wait... Lucas will probably do it then!

9) Some of the face replacement shots for Christopher Lee and Ian McDiarmid don't look too good in "Clones" or "Sith"; have they been updated?
Didn't really think this looked bad. Hoping for this in a future version of Terminator 2 though! (watch Arnold on the motorcycle)

10) What is the current status of the "cockpit transparency" issue, presented during the Battle of Hoth?
Don't know, but I don't understand why it wasn't fixed when they "said" they fixed it with the '97 SE.

11) Will Anakin's metal arm at the wedding in "Clones" be replaced with the more detailed version we see in "Sith"?
Doubt it, but you never know.

12) Will Obi-Wan's "ghost form" be kept consistent in color, between "Empire" and "Jedi"? There's some shots where he almost looks blue, and others where he's simply surrounded by a white glow.
Never really bothered me, but it probably will now that you mentioned it. Thanks!
Embedded.

So the new one is screwed on more tightly?

Which episode was that?

Empire had a similar alteration, except it was the 70MM version missing a shot that was in the 35MM version (the Rebel fleet at the end)...in this case the 70MM blowups were struck first since they went to the big premiere houses around the country.

6. Hmm, here's a classic phrase that sounds like an absolute to me: "Do or do not. There is no try."

I don't know about you guys, but the one change I really, really want is in ANH. Remember when all the Rebels were having the meeting before the Battle of Yavin with the Death Star plans and how to destroy it? Well those graphics haven't aged well...at all.

Maybe they finally re-did that? It would certainly make sense...maybe more than any other change.

Either way, if it wasn't touched I wouldn't be all upset about it. With HTF and Bill Hunt talking about the conference, I have A LOT of faith in this release. This is what we have been waiting for!

"Sounds like Bill Hunt is impressed, from his Facebook:"

is more excited for the Star Wars Blu-rays now than he was before, which was not much. Looks like at long last they might have gotten it right. Report Monday on The Bits.

Quote:
At the very least, they've fixed a lot of the A/V problems of the 2004 DVDs.

Quote:
Tomorrow night. Color timing fixed. Light sabers fixed. Ep 4 5.1 rear music channels fixed. Trumpet fanfare at start of Death Star attack fixed. Deleted scenes pretty awesome.

Quote:
A/V details seem to have actually been sweated by someone. Not a perfect or ultimate set, but perhaps the best since the 1994 laserdisc definitive box.

Quote:
No original cuts. Not exactly the 2004 DVD cuts either. 2011 BD cuts.

Quote:
No original cuts. Seriously, nobody can reasonably expect those at this point. But at least all the problems of the 2004 DVDs fixed.

Quote:
I can confirm that there are at least some further tweaks. Don't know what they are outside of probably Episode I digital Yoda.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost...&postcount=669

Can anybody confirm this, as I cannot find Bill Hunt's Facebook Page!

.
Can't wait for his full report!
