They sure will.

Because they were just typical promo clips. Surely no one ever thought the first trailer consisted of actual BD footage, right? Oh, for a moment I forgot it was SW we are talking about. My bad.

Maybe they finally re-did that? It would certainly make sense...maybe more than any other change.

Either way, if it wasn't touched I wouldn't be all upset about it. With HTF and Bill Hunt talking about the conference, I have A LOT of faith in this release. This is what we have been waiting for!
I agree, and would love to see that changed as well. It's still a possibility as of now.

Really? I think nobody knew that. Wow, that's even more amazing news than the reports on the BD saga of today.
[Show spoiler]Just messing with you, Ken. Sorry, couldn't resist. WE all know you are excited, for you have said so about a million times already, and guess what: I am too!!!

Now they are providing a format to answer some of those questions and there are more complaints. The negativity surrounding this release is simply stunning. Lucas is damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't.

Yancy
Some people just don't have any respect. I really feel sorry for them, and I would have stopped it a long time ago. People can be such mo56ns.

This looks remarkable! I am really psyched about seeing and hearing TPM on BD!!! I saw it 15 times in the theater back then, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

In Lucas' case, it's also fitting because he's a Universe Builder. Having created the entire Star Wars Universe.

Sure others have taken that Universe to play in and built things too. But it wouldn't exist without the original dreamer.

Having read Bill Hunt's report on TheDigitalBits I have to thank the sound design team for their hard work. As a fan it means alot to me that they listened to the complaints we had with the audio mix on the 2004 release. Thanks Team!

Yep a big thanks to skywalker sound and LFL for listening to the fans about the complaints we had with the audio mix on the 2004 release as well as the other complaints we had about the A/V issues from the 2004 dvd release.

Since its both an audio and visual issue, I hope they either fixed Hayden's lips with the "more powerful" speech to Padme, or brought him in to record the original line.

I doubt they'll worry too much about that. A lot of major movies have mis-matched lips like that when they change lines in post.

Yeah, this happens in films, and I didn't even realize this issue until someone pointed it out. In a lot of films if the person is standing where you can't see the whole face or mouth the words don't always match the mouth. Just a by-product of ADR sometimes.

Bill Hunt updated his morning report with this:

Then there's also the Documentaries disc that includes many new and vintage featurettes and documentaries. We've listed these before. [Editor's Note: We didn't look at any of this material on Friday - and frankly it's of less interest than the two Archives discs, which are where the real gems are to be found. Be advised that you may wish to hang on to your previous Star Wars DVDs - in addition to the new BDs - if you want to keep ALL the available extras, as many of the documentaries they offered are not contained in the Blu-ray Saga set. Lucasfilm's intention was to try to include as much all-new, not previously officially released material as possible rather than simply recycling previously released extras. Just so you know.] What's more, each film has two audio commentary tracks - the ones that were on the previous DVD release as well as an all-new commentary compiled from tons of vintage and archived interviews with the cast and crew. Finally, I'm assured that there are indeed a handful of "very fun" Easter eggs scattered throughout the set.

[Editor's Note: My belief is that the 2004 DVD negative scans of the Original Trilogy were produced at 2K resolution, which would roughly match the production resolution of the Prequel Trilogy. We also believe that Lowry Digital was involved in the Blu-ray production effort. When and if we're able to officially confirm this information, we'll let you know.]

[Editor's Note: The one other thing I'll say is that the Prequel Trilogy deleted scenes appear to be IN ADDITION to those that were included on the DVDs. So this seems to be all-new material for those films.]

Not 100% confirmed but that would be nice if the deleted scenes from the Prequels DVDs got an HD upgrade in this set...if included.

Yeah, I'll probably ditch the film discs from the DVD sets, but I'll definitely be keeping the bonus discs. There's lots of great stuff on there, and I also have the "Musical Journey" DVD, that came with the "Sith" soundtrack.

I won't be ditching the film discs, but yeah... gotta hang onto those extras and bonus discs. And LDs. And so on.

I'm kinda glad they offered as much new stuff as possible. Rather than just slapping the previous extras on the Blu.

True. Although they could have given us all the new while porting over the old as the best of both worlds. We better hang onto everything if we want the past extras. As the news on this set sounds more and more encouraging by the day, I've come to accept the fact that I'll need to hang onto the DVD bonus discs and all my past material. It would have been really nice to have seen them put on a 10th BD to bring over the DVD bonus disc content for convenience and completion's sake, but I guess I can deal with that. A great idea that they decided to skip.

On the other hand, I still think they should have included "From Star Wars to Jedi" and even the bonus features from the three VHS/LD sets that contained them, as those never made it to DVD/BD. It would be nice to have them on a modern format and not just dvd-r's.

The 65min "From Star Wars to Jedi" could have fit in nicely in place of the 84min 501st doc.

I've been doing some math here, and I'd like to keep all four bonus discs from the past DVD releases with the current set (like many of you I'm sure).

King Kong (2005) and Star Wars are two releases that, for me, I just like collecting all the bonus feature stuff.* It feels like a waste, but if I can come up with a nifty package for each release, I'll be happy.

Are you guys just keeping the sets separate or are you making your own Trilogy sets and putting all the discs in two or three cases?

*I won't buy Laser Discs or VHSes, only because I don't have a LD player or VCR, but otherwise, whatever works.

I dunno. The 501st are some pretty interesting fellows. And they make some impressive costumes.

I'm just hoping they cover R2-KT in the documentary, since she earned her way into Star Wars history with Clone Wars.
