Um, wasn't there a blaster mark behind Han after during the "Who shoots first" scene because the screengrab doesn't show a blaster mark behind Han anymore?

Am I seeing that right?

You are, but don't get your hopes up. It's one frame...

Problem with your assessment is that Greedo's already dead in the screengrab. He would've taken the shot already....if I'm going by the '04 DVD.

I'm sure most people would vote B! Just hang onto the DVDs.

"Oh... but then I have to swap discs "

So What?! Take 30 seconds to eject one disc, put another in, then enjoy 2 hours of "Empire of Dreams" or whatnot...
Since we're talking about a hypothetical situation here, you should include a third choice:

c)add a much-needed tenth disc to the set, permitting the inclusion of all previous bonus features in addition to all the new features on this set, then drop features not relevant to the films, allowing all features never released past VHS/LD to be included as well.

I'll take choice C

Nevermind, there wasn't a blaster mark on the DVD (just checked). It's probably still the same...

The blaster 'mark' on the wall still appears to be there - its just difficult to see because the image is so brighter.

I compared both the 2004 DVD and the picture on the Moments site...I don't see a blaster mark on the 2004 DVD. I honestly think they changed it back to the original version; why the HELL would they have a caption like that if they didn't?

Jason,

I have to admit, it is curious to title the screengrab that. They could be picking fun at the whole thing but that moment is a sensitive subject for a lot of people. Why even try to make a joke of it?

I could care less about the actual moment but still, why even stir the pot?

I'm not sure a force ghost that looks like it shouldn't be allowed within 500 yards of schools or playgrounds is a 'change for the better' but what do I care, it's a terrible movie anyway

Right on the dot. If it wasn't changed at all from the 2004 version, then there would be a caption with "Greedo's Demise" or something 'official' sounding like that. If it wasn't changed at all, there would be no little "Who Shot First?" joke. The fact that they made that caption I think is an obvious hint that we are getting what all the fans truly want

Second part of the report: http://thehdroom.com/news/Star-Wars-...rt-2-of-3/9427

Notice the screengrabs at the bottom. That 3PO R2 shot has a nice layer of grain on it...or is that digital noise?

we shouldn't have to adjust our displays to get rid of matte lines... they should just NOT BE THERE! Really no excuse for this.

I watched Episodes IV and V the other day on my TV in THX mode which apparently means the display settings are spot on to what a THX certified video is optimized for.

The colours and everything look spot on, but I can still see the matte lines. Meaning if you've "optimized" your TV and the lines are gone, it's not optimized properly for the rest of the film.
