Actually I like this bit the most:

Quote:
On the moment he knew that “Star Wars” was becoming a pop-culture sensation: “On opening day I was on the East Coast and I did the morning-show circuit — ‘Good Morning America’ and ‘Today’ … in the afternoon I did a radio call-in show in Washington and this guy, this caller, was really enthusiastic and talking about the movie in really deep detail. I said, ‘You know a lot abut the film.’ He said, ‘Yeah, yeah, I’ve seen it four times already.’ And that was opening day. I knew something was happening.”

.

Which reminds me of that summer way back in 77 when some kid who had already seen it a couple of times, kept following me around the soccer field telling me the who story bloody story from the movie. I was like WTF?!

So a few weeks later I finally go and see it and I was like...ok I can see what the big deal about this is now.

I hear (har har) a lot about this surround sound issue.

Is it limited to only one of the 3 films? (Guessing A New Hope?)

Reason I ask is because I just watched the last 20 mins of Return of The Jedi and the surround channels were not switched (they were normal/fine).

I haven't watched ANH/ESB on my new 5.1 system yet.

A little off topic but just got back from Celebration V!

And this is what little Anakin looks like now.

Excellent article. Even Kurtz knows the truth. Too bad Lucas didn't do with his ideas for Jedi.

He looks like he has beaten several Anti-Jake Lloyd fanboys in his day.

He looks kind of like Hayden Christensen, if Hayden had bushy eyebrows and a bigger jaw.

Screw Kurtz. Another interview where he sounds bitter. Tell me, what has he done of any significance since The Empire Strikes Back in the film industry?

I love how this guy basically comes off like "his" version of how things would've gone would've been ultimately better.

A question to all, is it a crime to use your creation, in this case Lucas using the Star Wars films, as a vessel in creating a filmmaking empire that's contributed ten-fold to better the art of filmmaking over the past 33 years?

That's basically what Lucas has done in his career, along with being the mastermind behind two the greatest film sagas in history.

Gotta love with Gary "the real truth about Star Wars" Kurtz rears his head.

Good to have confirmation I'm assuming it'll still be a Fall release.

Today at Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando, Florida, George Lucas confirmed during a q/a session that all six Star Wars live-action feature films are coming to Blu-ray Disc in 2011. This confirmation comes after Star Wars ambassador Steve Sansweet offered a similar confirmation about Star Wars on Blu-ray earlier this year.

The box set, expected to arrive in the fourth quarter of next year, will include never-before-seen deleted scenes. One of those scenes is from Return of the Jedi and was decribed by Lucas, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill on-stage. I don't have the description yet but it sounds like it might take place towards the end of Jedi when Luke reveals to Leia who she really is.

It starts with Vader walking down a corridor on his Star Destroyer, he enters his meditation chamber and calls out to Luke through the Force. The scene jumps to Luke in the cave hearing Vader while he's constructing his new lightsaber. Luke hears Vader's voice say "Luke" one last time then he ignites his saber. Very cool - Luke looks very dark

This will be a 12 month period long remembered. It has seen the confirmation of Back to the Future, it will soon (eventually) see the release of the Star Wars saga.

Really pleased to FINALLY have confirmation, but it is such a long way away

Considering blu-ray's been going for 4 years and how long it took to hit DVD, it really hasn't been that long at all. Hoping for really good transfers on all 6 films.
