Does anyone know which mix contained the scene where Luke and Leia's voice's echo before swinging across in SW?
That's why I said that it has to be only a 'hint' of the Imperial March, not the full version of the theme. John Williams included it in the prequel trilogy (just hints of it). We'll see in 3 weeks

I'm trying to hold off.... but it's Sooooo hard. I had to watch TPM a while ago. Couldn't wait.

I wish it was coming out earlier in September. I'm gonna go nuts trying to avoid watching one of the films.

Which I hope happened for the Blu-Ray release regardless. I'm guessing for Vader's Entrance to the Tantive IV.
When they were putting together thr 1997 special editions George and John Williams discussed putting the Imperial March into ANH, but Williams scrapped the idea. Lucas tends to listen to Williams regarding the score and unless Williams changes his mind I doubt George will ever include the Imperial March in ANH.

I don't really think it fits anyways. The Imperial March has always been the Empire's Offensive Power theme. It shows up when the Empire is out in full force. In ANH we get to see a few Star Destroyers and one battle station and the empire isn't really observed on the level it is in the next 2 films. It just seems fitting that when the theme is introduced for the first time in ESB we are seeing an armada of star destroyers hunting down Luke and the remaining rebels. Its a Holy Shit moment. It says to the audience that these guys weren't defeated in ANH and they are not ****ing around this time. That seems to be Williams original intention in writing the piece.

I know!! it's so hard not watching them again, i did about two months ago then decided to wait until i have the Complete saga on Blu-ray. The anticipation is killing me, but then again this is the best part is the waiting

[Show spoiler]Obi-Wan: I smell trolls.

Anakin: Next step?

Obi-Wan: Feed the trolls!

I downgraded from 7.1 to 6.1 a couple of years ago. I've always thought that's enough. I don't need separation in the back, we only need 3 speakers in front, why need more in the back? But that's just me. I'm glad Matthew Wood thought the same. Bring on Star Wars Saga in lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1!

You mean blending, blending, and blending, so that with each subsequent release, all six films lose just a little more of their uniqueness from one another? It's this unnecessary stubborn adherence to symmetry that made all three of the prequel films (especially Menace and Clones) much longer than they should have been. Both of those movies could have been told in an hour-and-a-half, and Sith could possibly have been told in just two.

If Lucas has done things to the OT like fixing his New Hope Jabba some more then I'll still bite; but if there are going to be more unnecessary additions and alterations, then SW to me is officially dead. I won't stand for Williams's music getting f&^%ed up on top of everything else.

Especially since there was talk of additional scenes for the OT being filmed during filming of the Prequels. Would have been cool.

Would have been were they could have used the Imperial March theme also. Oh well, maybe we'll get it for the next release.
Going by that picture of the UK Box back Cook posted a while ago, all of the running times differ from the DVDs.

Like I said Lucas tends to listen to Williams. Williams was going to include it in the 1997 special edition, but decided against it. Unless Williams changes his mind the Imperial March will not be included in ANH.

I must have missed this. Do you have the difference in runtime by chance? Or a link?

As far as I know, there's no PAL speed-up with Blu-Ray. So it shouldn't factor into the runtime.

Man! Between the photoshop job a couple a pages back and this music thing, I think I'm going to have a nervous breakdown.

I'll try to find the pic, unless Cook posts it again

All of the running times were shorter than my Canadian NTSC DVDs.

I do believe that's the case but all the run times on the UK set are several minutes shorter than the current US DVD's. I have a feeling they just copy and pasted the run times so they may not be accurate. The Dutch (?) case posted a few weeks ago had identical run times to the US DVD's.

Is this Dutch? LOL I have no clue

On this cover, it shows: TPM = 138, AOTC = 142, ROTS = 140, ANH = 125, ESB = 128, ROTJ = 135

My DVDs: TPM = 133, AOTC = 142, ROTS = 140, ANH = 123, ESB = 129, ROTJ = 136

I know that the UK set had all shorter times, most were about 7 minutes shorter

Was it on the SE? I always thought it was something from the OUT. There was no echo on the latest Adywan release but there was on one of the Technicolor ones.

Here's Cook's pic.

He actually addressed it earlier (Thanks ), but evidently it was buried quickly.

It shots TPM = 130 (or is it 138?), AOTC = 136, ROTS = 134, ANH = 119, ESB = 122, ROTJ = 130

If they add anything it will be VERY small things (some minor tweaks to effects, extra line of dialogue here and there). Major things would be saved for the 3D releases in theaters (they need to give people a reason to go other than 'ehhh' post conversion 3D, the fad is dying). I suspect not much difference between the 2004 DVDs and the 2011 Blu Rays, just minor tweaks and a serious upgrade in PQ/AQ.

Phantom Menace guys, seriously, not one of us has seen it like it will be presented on blu ray in over TEN years! That alone is worth the purchase of the set.

Hey guys, be thankful Universal isn't doing this. They are quickly becoming the big studio that loves to mess with transfers, considering recent releases full of EE and DNR.

My DVD's show (rounded to the nearest minute):

TPM DVD = 136
AOTC DVD = 142
ROTS DVD = 140
ANH DVD = 125
TESB DVD = 127
ROTJ DVD = 135

I think that's a 136 on the Denmark cover for TPM making all the times the same with possibly an extra minute on ESB. Then again, it depends how they round these things and run times on packages are always wrong. My Empire DVD even says 129 minutes when it's clearly not.

Conclusion: Whatever run time is written on the boxes cannot be trusted.
