Double check your shipping speed. I'm in India and ordering from Amazon US via Priority Shipping and the expected delivery date is September 19th-21st.

There are so many instances in the OT where you can see the prop lightsaber blade

Couldn't have been that hard to fix...

I really doubt these are from the "actual source"

this is more likely to be from the actual source

Why did Lucas change it so Greedo shot first anyway?

Has anybody who preordered thru DD gotten a hold on their account? I saw one yesterday on my account and it went away today. I hope I get SW early just like some of us got the Buster Keaton Shorts Collection early thru DD.

Off topic: People, give up with the UOT, you will not get what YOU want. Compare SW with Blade Runner; Blade Runner had a release with five (?) different cuts, and none of you complained because you were given everything including the kitchen sink (what fans wanted, it's unclear, I'm not a Blade Runner fan).

The Blade Runner Final Cut was praised by almost everybody, with its multiple changes, don't forget...but the whole deal is, SW or not, with the SW blu-ray release fans are not given what they want. Can we just grow up? Seriously, you are spoiled American brats who are always accustomed to get what you want. Not this time, specially with capitalist money-hungry GL.

Shipping was super saver, and I'm in the US, i always do the free shipping and never had it give me dates like that, regardless changing the address (to a house 20 mins away from my orignal address) fixed it to what I normally see

If those are supposed to be from the actual source then they haven't touched the colour timing of the OT. Oh, and before somebody chimes in and says that i'm wrong because the images are lighter, then first check the black levels of the matte bars in each picture. they are using studio colour space (16-235) . Now here is a comparison between one of the so called blu-ray promotional shots on mf.com and the same frame taken from the HDTV capture with the colour space changed from 0-255 pc scale to DVD/blu-ray 16-235 colour space. No colour correction or any other work was done. Now tell me which one is which?

So either these promotional stills are still using the old 2004 master and they are holding off releasing any images that are truly from the blu-rays or these are in fact directly from the blu-rays and all the reports about the colour timing changes were mistaken, thinking they meant the OT when in fact the colour timing alterations were only done to the PT (which evidence is there that they have greatly altered the colour timing in AOTC especially at Kamino - proof below)

Hey guys...what your opinion on Maul's lightsaber in those pics?

I am viewing them on a work computer so I am unsure if it is calibrated correctly.

I hope it sounds better on the BD than on that video. Playing back that video in 2 channel on semi-decent desktop speakers, the dialog is too low and sounds over compressed. It's buried in the music.

It doesn't mean they've changed it in every single scene, so some scenes can look just like on DVD, while others will be different.

Because Solo is supposed to be a good guy and a hero and in essence, Solo murdered Greedo in the original version.

Frankly, in both versions, it all happens so fast, I'm not sure the average person could tell the difference and since Greedo isn't a human, would care anyway.

When all this "Han shot first!" stuff came up years ago, I had no freaking idea what it was all about because what I had remembered (correctly or wrongly) was that Greedo had a gun under the table and Han was aware of it. So that even though Han shot first, it was in self-defense. No big deal. But changing it so that Greedo explicitly shot first? I don't think that was a big deal either.

But to the crowd that obsesses over the color of laser beams in a fantasy universe, I guess it is a big deal, especially because it was a change. Once the BDs come out, if the PQ is really good, I expect to see threads complaining about "panty lines".

i just posted that one pic as an example. all the others from ESB are the same as the 2004 HDTV versions too.

EDIT: Nope, they are exactly the same throughout the promotional pictures
