For the Special edition they took out the back wall here to add a window , but they totally forgot to add the new background to any of the other shots

Original version

Special edition version

You should see the new window behind the stormtroopers. It's a glaring continuity error. Mock-up of the sort of thing you should see in that shot:

Hopefully this is one of the things that they fix for the Blu-Rays

EDIT: Chip75 beat me to it

yeah..that's not how it was originally seen..you know..the one that blew everyone away when it was first released in theaters..the classic..the money maker, the attendance breaker, not the new and" improved"

I disagree. It's Star Wars. Casual movie lovers everywhere will pick it up no matter what. Most won't be even aware of stuff like "Emperor's slugs". Angry nerds have already decided they're not going to get it because of Han/Greedo, even if the transfer was godlike.

My point is this is one movie that internet reviews will have very little control over. It will sell amazing either way.

I promise not to do it again....

They should fix the CGI extensions to the sets but will they? It really shouldn't have got past quality control, the extensions could use a bit of tweaking themselves. Even though it opened up Cloud City I didn't think it was that necessary, afterall we weren't looking at the scenery we were wondering were Lando was leading our heroes....

This is excellent news. Is there a full list of the parodies that I am missing somewhere?

From Vader deflecting Han's blaster fire, I think.

wow cool clip from ady. Nice to see some consistency in that scene now.

Hopefully they'll do the same for the blu rays.

Both trilogies are $89.99 and the individual sets themselves are $39.99/each. Sadly they will not have the original cuts.

That in itself is interesting. They seem to want to avoid any leaks; the Lucasfilm"event" took place on 08/19 (24 days before the first release) and all they got to see were check discs. I wonder whether the bulk of the discs had entered production at that point…

For example, LOTR Extended leaked at least 19 days before release, so it probably entered production a bit earlier than that.

It corresponds to an area of the sets that in prior shots in the special editions had been CG replaced with outdoor shots. So they introduced a continuity error with crappy work.

That'd be quite the turnaround.
These might have even leaked already, but Fox usually adds new copy protection methods on their major BDs so pirates/screencappers can't do much with them until someone figures out how to bypass it.

Is there actual continuity that PROVES those exact same panels in that exact same spot had been replaced with outdoor shots? Or are you just assuming that just because some panels in the set had been digitally replaced, that all other panels must also be replaced?

I thought they may be two different locations as well, but if you watch the scene it is quite obvious that it is the same location.
