Please someone come out and say April Fools on this.
I can tolerate everything else but this is a straw breaking the camels back.

I do find it kinda funny at the accusations that Lucas has gone crazy...

Yet it's the fans who are foaming at the mouth over such minor changes to the movie.

I think you're forgetting Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which Lucas exec. produced. Shia La Beouf monkey swing, anyone?

The only solace I have about this change is my two boys who are not old enough to watch these films yet.

It'll be a few years before I finally see how much this change works, because ultimately, that's why Lucas changed it. A thematic link between the two trilogies for the future generation who didn't grow up on these films and are viewing them for the absolute first time.

The "No" does not work. The first "No" sounds as if he is answering a yes or no question. Sounds like a real bad dub job if you ask me.

That is of course if this is really, truly in the blu-ray release. If this is true, this is a really sad day.

If by minor changes to the movie you mean totally destroying the way the climax of the entire series plays, then yep. Minor change.

I completely agree with your assessment too. Something "making sense" doesn't necessarily make it the right or best choice. I prefer the original version. Yet at least, if a change "had to be made" (and Georgie has to make them), this is one that has some logic behind it, and for that reason alone I don't fully detest it (as opposed to so, so many other changes to the OT). And to my ears, in the clip we have (whatever it's worth), it's something I'm warming to. Again, not loving, but not hating either.

By 2050, someone will be able to form a composition of Vaderisms.

Are you happy? Noo.

Are you sad? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Are you in love? NoooOOoooOooOoOOOoo

+ another 31 years of unnecessary editing.

Do we need this as a link? Are you going to think, gee Vader said no at the end of Sith, how come he isn't saying no at the end of Jedi. GL is grasping at straws.

I guess we'll need more echoes to make George happy. I'll start the list...

We need a set of twins to be CGId into Jedi now... Maybe start Luke with a little belly when he's with Yoda and go from there...

sigh

We get it. You feel he can replace actors, voice performances, effects, music, dialog, even character motivation in classic, beloved films that are 30 years old... and it's all OK and "minor". We get it.

Personally, I'm so glad that we now have been able to realize Lucas's vision of what the Krayt Dragon sounds like. Obviously, the technology to have a crew member yelp into a microphone didn't exist in the mid-70s. Seriously improves a scene that audiences have been complaining about for decades.

Is there any official word that there is a "No. Nooooo" from Vader in RoTJ?? Cause if there isn't, I'm not believing it. It just doesn't make sense. George is a visual guy and loves visual emotion. Vader looking down at Luke while he is getting zapped is a great visual artistic moment in the Star Wars Saga. I doubt George would wreck a perfect moment like that

I only sold Episodes II and III. I figured the movies would be unaltered on the Blu-ray set and aside from the deleted scenes and trailers, I couldn't care less if Lucas dropped any of the extras. I kept TPM however since I was afraid The Beginning documentary would be left off(and it sounds like it has), plus I like having a copy of the movie with the horrible Yoda puppet just for posterity.

I'll never get rid of the Holy Trilogy DVDs since I have the releases with the original versions of the films. Plus I held onto the Holy Trilogy bonus disc since I wanted to make sure Empire of Dreams wasn't dropped from the Blu-ray set(and again, it looks like it might've been).

LOL

It also took Lucas two decades to decide that a "Noo.... NoooOoooOooOoo" was apart of his original vision.

I just showed the offending clip to my wife, she likes Star Wars, but is not fanatical. Response, 'didn't he always say no?'. Lucas wins, average Joe who will buy the majority of this won't know and wont care. They will be getting amazing picture and audio and that's why it will sell by the truck load.

For all of those saying you're not buying, bet you will
