Now the truth is out and some people still can't accept it so they try to rationalize in any way possible while still attacking those who point out the obvious facts. The images and video are right there but people are still in denial. This is all independent of the laughably bad changes that have come to light. It seems the response to these changes is overwhelmingly negative, but there are a few voices who want to believe the changes are for the better to justify their purchase of the set.

I'll always say that if you don't mind the changes and color problems, have a great time with the set. But it's important for more people to be made aware of what they're exactly getting with this new set - same old faulty video and even more ridiculous changes.

Unlike the 2000 Phantom Menace VHS Collector's Edition, which gave film strips (5 frames) from an actual theatrical print (meaning every box got a unique set of frames), this "pre-order bonus" is a reproduction of the exact same frame of film. Worthless if you ask me.

and @ Blu-Jawa, you pay $5 to be guaranteed a set on September 16th. So if the set is $89.99, you pay $5 + tax to pre-order, then $84.99 + tax when you pick the set up. No money is saved.

Yeah, that does seem pretty damn worthless!

All of the cells are the same. They were mass produced for the pre-sell premiums.

I'm guessing that you haven't. My echoes always seem to collect and create a stuttering effect like Bens. Come on man.

I still can't stop laughing! Seriously, this hurts...lol

"No. NOOOOOOOOOOO!" LMAO! A dramatic scene now turn into comedy. Vader saying nothing and looking back and forth displayed his internal struggle perfectly (we KNOW exactly what that character is thinking and we don't even see his face...). Lucas killed the tension at the end of Empire with the TMI scene of Vader going to his shuttle, and now he does this. The man has lost his mind.

This is like adding the line: "I'm being burned alive and it hurts very much!" at the end of Revenge of the Sith...lol

Would not be surprised at that. I also enjoy this version:

Because of all the bad word of mouth this leak is generating, I can't imagine Lucasfilm acknowledging it publicly. If people were ecstatic about the leaked footage then Lucasfilm would be wise to quell the pirating immediately and build even more excitement for Sept. 16.

However, since most people are reacting negatively, Lucasfilm can only hope that the word of mouth does not spread too far, and it won't if you consider the message boards to be a very, very small portion of the SW fanbase.

Most people? You realize that the number of people who care enough to post on an on-line forum about the release is still just a drop in the bucket compared to the number of people who arn't that hardcore about Star Wars to waste their time online obsessing about it. Or don't care about the changes enough to have a meltdown over them. The average consumer isn't going to care one way or the other. Just a visit from reality here.

You should read my post again, Beast. I clearly explained this point.

The only meltdown is coming from those who can't accept that the PQ is as bad as 2004 and there are even more dumb alterations. You are also incorrect to implicate that obsession only comes from a certain voice of the online community when that group actually represents logic, evidence, and rational thinking.

Your "visit from reality" isn't fooling anyone. We know you're torn up over this. The sooner you stop attacking people and start accepting the nature of this release, the sooner you'll feel better. Then you can enjoy it without feeling angry at us.
