Yep.

"Lucas wouldn't do that! It's just rumors by haters!"

"Confirm it, else I won't believe it!"

(after confirmation) "Lucas is the Star Wars god! He wanted the changes, so I'm ok with them!"

that was recorded by soundalikes for the record. none of the audio (except for Williams' score) is from the actual films audio

Incorrect. The "long-play" record was all clips from the films.

I stole this from another site. Brilliant.

Quote:
SCENE: Exterior, Lucasfilm Ranch. Night.

Fans: George, what’s wrong?

George: Guys… do you remember the trilogy? The “original trilogy?”

Fans: Just a little bit. It died when we were getting old.

George: What do you remember?

Fans: Just images, really… from the Internet, and old laserdiscs.

George: Tell me.

Fans: It was really beautiful. Flawed… but perfect, with those flaws. Why are you asking us all this?

George: I have no memory of this “original trilogy.” I never knew it.

Fans: George, tell us. What’s troubling you?

George: The Blu Ray is here, now… a full box set.

Fans: How do you know?

George: I can feel the leaks hitting the Internet.... As long as I live, this will be the only trilogy anybody ever sees. Well, along with the prequels. You have to face it.

Fans: Why?

George: This is my vision, the way it was meant to be.

Fans (horrified): Your vision!?

George: There’s more. It won’t be easy for you to hear it, but you must. You need to forget there ever was an original trilogy. You’re the only hope that everyone forgets I ever made a movie with models and puppets.

Fans: George, don’t talk that way. The original trilogy is a piece of history, and needs to be preserved for future generations!

George: You’re wrong, guys. The original trilogy is gone. This is the REAL trilogy. In time, you’ll learn to accept it as I have. Greedo shot first. Jabba was always there… and Darth, well, he’s a screamer.

Fans: (Staring Blankly)

George. Yes. It’s true, guys.

Fans: (sad) We… we know… somehow, we’ve known since 1997.

I know i'm just messing around.

By the way what is really wrong with it if you listen He says NOOO right before he picks up the emperor you can still hear everything else. It's not like he cut off the other dialogue of that particular scene. If i can still hear the emperor screaming for Vader to put him down than that works for me.

And yes the eyes on the ewoks do creep the hell out of me.

I didn't notice that it was an LP. Nevermind then...

I didn't know there were Star Wars read-alongs released on LPs... I know there was the Story of Star Wars. All the read alongs I own are 7" played at 33

Episode III got the most likes of all the prequels. Getting about 80 percent favorable views on rottentomatoes.com when the other 2 prequels got in the 60s.

I was not crazy about the HC change (Anakin ghost) when I first saw it - but now I'm used to it and it's really part of the movie. I think if GL changed that back, it'd seem strange/incomplete.

I think it'll be the same with this change. Is is big - yes. Will it seem weird, maybe for me (maybe not). But I'll get used to it and these are the Definitive Editions (I made that up).

I love all 6 movies (saw ANH when I was 7 in 1977) and still them them - goofy silly stuff and all.

It is only in every major entertainment site and newspaper. By continously making changes GL assures that each edition remains "precious" .

ewoks eyes - i think its pretty cute, makes them more real.

obi wans shriek - well ive listened to both, and the new version certainly does seem scarier....i mean why would you run away from a whale noise like in the original?

jabbas door - i think it looks bloody brilliant

cgi yoda - looks 1000 times better

han and greedo shoot together - again much better

well done georgey boy!!

Indeed---none more so than the Unaltered original trilogy itself.

I don't like the Vader "NOOOOO!" - I LOVE IT! Whether it's official or not... I just think it's a great idea for the whole sagas benefit! I'm really excited for all the changes actually! The Dug in RotJ is really a dream come true. I've always thought it would be great if a Dug would sit in the Cantina or in Jabbas Palace!

Once again completely unnecessary changes have been made to the Original Trilogy. I don't feel like buying the Blu-Ray Set of Star Wars anymore because I don't want to pay for once again altered versions of these classics films. I do not want to support these films anymore.

The Star Wars Trilogy no longer feels like The Star Wars Trilogy with all of these unnecessary changes made. I honestly hope that one day we do get the Original Unaltered Theatrical Versions restored in HD on Blu-Ray. At least we be able to watch these films as they once were when they felt like Star Wars and not a mess.

With the main set being called Star Wars: The Complete Saga, it actually is not complete without the Original Unaltered Theatrical Versions of the Original Trilogy.

Hopefully it will happen one day then I will consider rebuying the films.
