Sooooo... that's what all the fuss is about?

Most of these changes simply make me shrug my shoulders.

The Darth saying Nooooo thing, though, that is real?! I thought it was a spoof or something. Haha.

That's pretty lame.

Still buying it.

[Show spoiler]SCENE: Exterior, Lucasfilm Ranch. Night.

Fans: George, what’s wrong?

George: Guys… do you remember the trilogy? The “original trilogy?”

Fans: Just a little bit. It died when we were getting old.

George: What do you remember?

Fans: Just images, really… from the Internet, and old laserdiscs.

George: Tell me.

Fans: It was really beautiful. Flawed… but perfect, with those flaws. Why are you asking us all this?

George: I have no memory of this “original trilogy.” I never knew it.

Fans: George, tell us. What’s troubling you?

George: The Blu Ray is here, now… a full box set.

Fans: How do you know?

George: I can feel the leaks hitting the Internet.... As long as I live, this will be the only trilogy anybody ever sees. Well, along with the prequels. You have to face it.

Fans: Why?

George: This is my vision, the way it was meant to be.

Fans (horrified): Your vision!?

George: There’s more. It won’t be easy for you to hear it, but you must. You need to forget there ever was an original trilogy. You’re the only hope that everyone forgets I ever made a movie with models and puppets.

Fans: George, don’t talk that way. The original trilogy is a piece of history, and needs to be preserved for future generations!

George: You’re wrong, guys. The original trilogy is gone. This is the REAL trilogy. In time, you’ll learn to accept it as I have. Greedo shot first. Jabba was always there… and Darth, well, he’s a screamer.

Fans: (Staring Blankly)

George. Yes. It’s true, guys.

Fans: (sad) We… we know… somehow, we’ve known since 1997.
I think Trey Parker & Matt Stone need to either add this to the Free Hat South Park episode or make a whole new one and include this. Too funny.

They say the word "force" in both trilogies, too. I thought they were already tied together
If you watch the PQ, Anakin is always hasty to speak/yell/react. So it would make sense for Anakin to say "No" as he watches his son dying/being killed.

Obi-wan's Krayt Dragon scream has been changed twice now. There are THREE versions.

This is what it sounded like in the original movie (1977)

This is what it sounded like on the 2004 DVD

This is how it sounds on the Blu-ray release

Note: The VIDEO included with that last one is NOT video from the Blu-ray. Just the audio which was synced with the older video.

Those that have seen the leaked version of ROTJ, is it true they have cut Luke saying 'father......please' when the emperor is frying him, prior to the no no moment? Just read a couple of posts on other forums stating that was the case. That is way more offensive than vaders no if true.

And you just won the internet. I'm a die hard fan, and I don't even take the films THIS seriously.

....

he's a grown ass man by the time he sees his son getting fried by electricity. This is a horrible excuse to justify another stupid ass change by Lucas. Thank god I'm not a mindless fanboy anymore, it's embarrassing seeing you poor souls defend every ridiculous change George makes to these films. Hopefully you all find your way out of the darkness someday. It's better on the other side, believe me.

Grasping at straws are we? It's already been leaked, how else do people know. Besides, they already have footage of the leaks in many sites. Not to mention many have already downloaded the 640/720/1080p MKVs.

I'm really starting to think my original thoughts that he views the mythology of Star Wars almost like oral tradition storytelling are right.

Where everytime a story is retold and passed down, it's slightly different than the time before. At least that's my guess.

No, nothing is cut from that scene.

The YouTube clip that has Vader's "No!" starts AFTER Luke's "Father, please!" line.

Remember that you got The Return of the Jedi blu-ray for free, but you also have 4 other versions that you can pop in as well. Which home video format do you think you will repeatedly watch or maybe you will mix it up?
Ok, and let's imagine that you also got a 140" screen for free?
Where can I get all this free stuff!

The recent revelations of George Lucas' continued tinkering has led me to cancel my preorder. I may eventually pick it up but the excitement for this collection just hasn't materialized for me.

Hah. The long dead period after RotJ didn't kill Star Wars fandom. A few simple tweaks and changes won't do it.

wasn't it also changed some time between the fist (1982?) VHS release and the 1995 THX VHS release? I thought the pre-SE ANH went through 2 yells...
