Enough drama here to make me cancel my Amazon pre-order.

please dont encourage Beast. He's the same guy who roasts people for liking the Matrix sequels, but defends every blasphemous change made to Star Wars and the horrific prequel trilogy with a fiery passion.

Ain't It Cool News

Quote:
It was already such a perfect moment. As Luke, dying under the Emperor's torrent of force lightning, calls out to his father to help him, Vader stares quietly, looks at his son, then at the Emperor, and makes his decision. And he DOESN"T ****ING SAY A THING. That's what makes it so powerful. You could almost see the thought process behind the mask, as Vader slowly comes out of the fog of 20+ years of evil. It's a grand, amazing moment and the pinnacle of the trilogy, in my opinion.
^This. Though I would add it's not only the pinnacle of the trilogy, but the entire Saga.

And it's '97 and '04 all over again. The same regurgitated fan rage pops up every release.

It doesn't change the fact that the Theatrical SE's were a huge success as was the '04 DVDs.

Just like the Blu-Rays will be a huge sales success. The fan rage isn't going to change anything.

And I find it funny how people claim the only thing he listens to is cash.
Since if that was true, where's the DVD release of the '97 SEs. Or the Blu-ray releases of every version.
Since there's clearly a market for them, which only means more cash. Guess he doesn't care much about money.

People have a right to like whatever they want. For me, I loathed them. The first Matrix was good. The rest were pain. Simple as that.

And I have said numerous times there are parts of the original films and changes that I don't care for. You need to pay attention.

I'm more surprised that they made a "prequel Trilogy" of Star Wars. First I've heard of it.

Here's an interesting little tidbit...

The Creator™ was testifying in support of a bill to preserve (or more accurately create) the rights of a work's artistic authors. That bill defined artistic authors as the primary director and the primary screenwriter. Not the studio, not the copyright holder, not the executive producer...the primary director and the primary screenwriter.

Apparently back in the eighties The Creator™ didn't view directors and screenwriters as mere hired hands.

Not so much now though, maybe.

Cause from a certain point of view it's the ones screaming, yelling, and stamping their feet because they're not getting what they feel they're entitled to. You know, like a kid in a store when a parent says no to something. So yeah, it doesn't justify theft.
Hey, one good screw deserves another. You don't like....too f'ing bad.....grow up.

and people have a right to voice complaints about a series they love being altered, edited, and altered again.

PS they were both better than the entire prequel trilogy combined. I cared more about Trinity dying than Padme, thats for damn sure.

Except removing Luke's scream from Bespin... or reworking the Han/Greedo scene for every home release... or fixing some of the more infamous lightsaber shots jeered by fans...

That can go either way. There's the expense of doing a full restoration of the original films, and why play all your cards right away if most of the people complaining about this set are still going to buy it, then buy the "classic" set when George puts that out?

The "no" doesn't bother me.
The only thing that EVER bothered me was changing Boba Fett's voice.

Look on the bright side The Star Wars Trilogy on the whole was less altered the "The Warriors" on BD.
Ever think of that?

Yup. If the bill GL supported had passed he would needed their permission before altering Empire or Jedi.

Ironic, all things considered.

Exactly! *****ing a lot has worked in the past.

Of course, he turns around and gives us more to ***** about. Lucas is the one fueling this fire. If he would listen to his fans, and by fans I mean all of them and not just the lucas worshipers the *****ing would stop. Until Lucas releases the original versions of the OT compeltely restored I will not stop fighting for it. Perhaps when he is old and tired he will give in.
