There is very little they can say, it's like you are darn if you do and darn if you don't situation. Nothing they could say now would make the Internet mob relax anyway

Bravo, really, Bravo.
Oh and I will just leave this here for the haters out there:

I never said these weren't COPIES of the actual footage on the disc, but it is not representative of the actual disc. You do realise you are on a BLU-RAY forum, not a massively compressed MKV forum?

How do you think they got 140+ GB of data into a 38 GB file......magic? Seriously, go away.

each BD consists of few hundred thousands of those shots you saw. if you cannot accept that, play your own 2k UOT film reel and enjoy.

But you don't have the blu ray, case closed. I'm not debating anything other than misrepresentation of the final picture quality. Not sure what your aganda is, apparently 95% of this forum isn't buying the film 'cause Georgey added 2 words.

Its not from the US version, it is from the MPEG4 German broadcast.

And I can get the official LF shots and do the same if you like

So how about some guesses on the number of Units to be sold in week one.

My original guess (all 3 combined OT/PT/Saga) is 1 million.
Maybe I'm to optimistic?

Even those who are canceling can take a stab at this? What say ye?

It makes no sense Why would they lie right to the faces of all the press that went up to the ranch for the preview why would they lie right to their face it makes no sense what the hell where they doing for this SUPPOSED 3yrs that they have been working on these do they expect us to buy the 3d versions in order for everything to be fixed.

I can only hope that the reports that they have not fixed anything are false.

Which is MASSIVELY compressed to fit down the cable or be picked up by satelite. Do you not know this??????

If it wasn't, why bother buying blu ray, we just all subscribe to HDTV and keep it on our PVR.

Episodes III to VI hold up very well on an image as big as 3 meters in width.
(I have an Optoma short throw projector). You can still see digital noise(these are upscaled dvds afterall) --- but it is not too distracting.

Episodes I and II (produced in 2001 and 2002 respectively) exhibit a lot more artifacts when projected on this type of scale.

But the blu rays should look phenomenal on a big screen---looking forward to testin' em out!

Actually, if they just said "HAHA JUST KIDDING APRIL FOOLS!" and none of the new changes were real, the mob would relax a fair bit.

It may be their way of getting us to accept the 1997 and 2004 changes.

"See?! It could have been worse!"

Handy, its false, stop torturing yourself. Accept that this leak was from the final production run of the films from the China plant pressing them. It is what it is. Marketing is designed to bullsh1t people by giving out half truths. The truth is they did fix 'certain' shots, everyone assumed it meant all of them. It is going to be a sub par release if you wanted lovely consistent lightsabres, no garbage mattes and quality proper channel audio. If not and you want the '04 DVD's in demo quality, stick with it.
I can only hope that the reports that they have not fixed anything are false.

Wait people are actually trying to say that the SW dvd's are better in terms of Pic quality than the Blu's.

That does not make sense.

I'm going to get flamed for this, but I like Darth Vader saying "No!" when he makes his face turn.

What I'm baffled about is all these new changes and George Lucas still can't:

A.) Digitally clear up the alien blood in the cantina since Obi-Wan's lightsaber would cause cauterization.

or

B.) CGI a medal onto Chewbecca!
