He now says "Father, I don't like Force lightning. It's rough and irritating and it gets everywhere."

Exactly. Watch them in HD and ignore the stuff that bothers you. That's what I do with most movies.

Someday George might just take out all the dialogue. I've heard him say Star Wars is essentially a silent movie.

I'm not an obsessed, die-hard Star Wars fan, but I do enjoy the movies a lot and they're some of my favorites. I'm not one who has ever nitpicked about the little changes George Lucas made. I thought adding Hayden in at the end of ROTJ was ridiculous, but I said "to hell with it". I said "to hell with it" to just about everything George Lucas has done to the movies. I was ready to buy all six, but after just reading that Darth Vadar now screams "NOOOOOOO" in the climactic ROTJ ending, I think I'm going to pass on buying these. Aside from adding yet another edit into the movie, could they have chose anything cheesier to add in? Really, a big, long "NOOOOOOOOOO"? Just WOW.

I'll probably buy the prequels just cause I thought they were decent. And I'll likely rent the originals.

Way to go, once again, George!

Then the obvious question must be asked, why put it in there then?

The scene did not need to be tampered with, it was PERFECT already. But at least to me, Lucas seems so adamant on linking the 2 trilogies in EVERY possible way he can think of and not leave well enough alone. For example, like we really needed Sebulba walking down the stairs now in ROTJ for us to go "Look, that's the dude Anakin beat in the pod race in TPM. That's really a great idea and really ties these trilogies together even better now into one complete saga." George has truly lost touch with reality for quite some time now it appears, to feel the need to upset the group of people in the grand scheme of things that made any of this even possible for him to go ahead and tinker/change as he pleases.

Yeah. And he'd make the special effects louder than the score.

Ok,

I'm going to give this a try (3rd times a charm?).

How many units will this sell? Let's count all 3 versions - PT/OT/Saga - totaled together.

My guess is 750k to 1million.

What is your guess?

This image reminded me that there is no single part in any of the SW movies that is the same as their theatrical release. Perhaps we should all give up.

LOL

The negative reviews continue to pour in at Amazon. Hopefully unsuspecting buyers will read the comments and find out what they're getting before plunking down their hard-earned cash.

Yeah I call BS to this rumor. If George had NEVER made further changes to the OT with each subsequent release people would become tired of buying the same old Star Wars on each consecutive format. By making subtle changes with each consecutive release it only creates a fervent demand to release the unaltered OT again until the day he inevitably does and all the fans around the world will rejoice and forgive him as their holy savior.

Ditto (the Region B UK equivalent, anyway). Sadly, the opening of Empire freezes often, as I imagine the previous owner didn't take great care of it. What with the discs being out-of-print, I'm hoping I won't be needing to re-buy them should I discover other faults with the discs. The tin was purchased last Christmas and I still have yet to watch Jedi.
