The Falcon training scene has been greatly improved.

The sample clip released earlier is the only section of the entire sequence where Luke's saber borders on green/aqua. For the large majority of the scene, it is bright blue.

Looks like I need to change my avatar.

I'll put a clip up on YT.

But should be blue for entire scene so they fix it not fixing it. Fail.

Yeah the Zazzle site is pretty complicated (I don't know much about posters either), I think if you scroll down the options there's one where Zazzle come to your home, they build the wall the poster is going to be on, stick a nice spot-light on it and then frame it....

There's even a 'keep the poster completely level' (with free digital spirit level) extended guarantee.

There are only about 4-5 shots throughout that entire sequence where the lightsabre is anywhere near blue: the shots that was promoted as being fixed, the same wide shot where the laser blot hits his leg, then about 3 shots right at the end where he deflects the shots. All other shots are still green/ aqua.

I agree that it isn't perfect. But the 40 mb clip is not representative of the entire scene. It is a huge improvement over the DVD.

I was probably one of the most pissed people here after looking at the sample clip, but it's not that bad.

Clip to be uploaded shortly.

During the duel between Vader and Ben, some lightsaber shots have been improved.

Why they chose only certain ones is beyond me, because we're now left with blades being vibrant red and blue in one shot, then duller in the next, back to vibrant and so forth...

Also, there was an issue in 1997 where no effect was applied to Ben's saber for a shot. In 2004 pale blue was basically painted over the saber, no white core. This shot has not been corrected.

Oh, I assumed it would be pretty bad. I guess we should be happy that they didn't do a 4k transfer because the crappy 2k version hid a bunch of the problems with the movie.....

Personally, if we had the GOUT, I would take all the mistakes, the crappy matte lines, that scoundrel Han killing Greedo, the whole enchilada.....

The grains looks very odd and blotchy - almost digital. I don't like Lowrey's work.

I think I'll turn the colour down on this release and just watch the bloody things in black & white! It worked wonders for Fellowship.... and I can turn down the sound completely at the end of Jedi.

Hopefully for the next release Lucas won't add one of those little digital displays you see in the backs of cars on Vader's chest.

"How am I driving?"

"I'm sorry but that display is upside down.... and on fire, maybe that's an indication of how you're driving?"

I think this release has broken my brain. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. At least people aren't complaining about those cardboard sleeves scratching the discs anymore but to be fair the set hasn't been released yet....

Agreed. Almost enhanced.

Does that look like natural grain to you?? I am not a grain hater, please don't confuse me with that crowd. I think that the use of a 2k master makes grain almost "enhanced". 4k captures so much more information that grain is intact. Just an opinion of mine....

Yeh, it's really strange that they would brighten up a couple of shots so the cores look more vibrant, yet they still leave Obi-Wan with his purple lightsabre in a couple of shots, that was never a problem before 2004.

Just noticed the BDs play the THX logo after the movies. Why couldn't Fox put them at the start. What a pity. Love how my old LDs started with that impressive oomph.
