Then you have no frame of reference to even comment on them since you have no idea what points are even talked about.

Moving along... did anyone notice how that looked nothing like Mark Hamill under the hood.

Dude, you're not going to convince anyone that loves the prequels that they are anything other than cinematic gold. I find arguing Star Wars is much like debating religion or politics: Once a person chooses their camp, there is little chance you're going to convert them to your side, and it works both ways.

I personally dislike the newer films, and dislike some of the changes made to the original three movies. And yes, I dislike the prequels because of plot holes, and nonsensical human behavior, and a romance that's about as heated as a dead polar bear, and FX that looks cartoonish enough to almost be considered really expensive anime, and laughable characters, and unnecessary symmetry just for the sake of it, and dialogue that makes me want to tear out my ears and burn them, and military strategy that looks like it came from the mind of a five-year-old with a bag of army men, and political maneuvering that generally does not jive with how politics actually works, and so on.

But you're never going to convince them any more than they could ever convince us. We love what we love.

wow you guys really read into these fun filled action fantasy movies way too much, its a movie for cripe sakes, its suppose to be fun and entertaining. not perfect and analyzed for every minute scene, word, dialog, FX shot, etc.

they are called popcorn movies to sit down and have fun enjoying them. too many anal ppl here. if you sit down and look at all movies, they all can be picked apart. even som of the best movies out there have flaws. give it a break

I can roll with popcorn flicks. I like mindless fun. But it still has to make sense well enough that I'm not pulled out of the movie every ten minuets. And let's face it, these films have a serious undertone that does not live up to what it claims to be.

Maybe ILM can CG some Snowtroopers (ground troops) in the Hoth battle to give it a little more oomph! Make it more like the Geonosis battle.

Oh, and utilize those x-wings hiding behind echo base to help those snowspeeders down those nasty AT-AT's with torpedos.

But you like many, many on this forum are taking it too seriously. Undertones or not it's a popcorn movie. I love and adore SW like any other person, I do not get knee deep into the specifics...

some people just can enjoy movies for what they are.

if i want the real world, i'll watch the news....and the news depresses the sh!t out of me.

that's why i watch movies, so i can escape the real world.

Sort of funny how George dislikes the unaltered OT and spends all that time trying to improve them, because I wish he would spend that energy trying to fix the prequels. They are the films that need redoing.

Well, the DVD is arguably the worst transfer of any of the Star Wars films, but I'm expecting them to clean it up for the Blu-ray. As for the one that will look the best on Blu, it might be "Revenge of the Sith".

As far as I can tell, Episode 1 is the only one of the prequel trilogy which was shot on film. Given a new transfer it should look very good. I'm more concerned about how Attack of the Clones will look, as it looked relatively poor in cinemas but that may have been more to do with the limitations of Digital Cinema at the time (1280X1024 DLPS).

Some may disagree, but I think TPM could look the best. TPM was shot on film which IMO looks far better than digital. AOTC and ROTS look flat to me. They lack the depth and detail you get from TPM which was shot on film. However, they need a new transfer. The dvd has a weird tint to it, and it has EE. Fix those problems, and I think it has the potential to look really good. Too bad the story itself isn't better.
