What's odd is the story seemed to be building up to that. Anakin has a vision that Padme dies in childbirth, does everything imaginable(not to mention unimaginable) to prevent it from becoming reality, only to unknowingly instigate the chain of events leading up to that moment including Force choking her and causing her to die of complications after giving birth. Not only would that have been tragic and ironic, it would've help salvage(somewhat) the infamous "NOOOO!" scene since the Emperor would've been telling Vader the truth about what happened.

Which BTW has always bugged me. How the hell did Palpatine even know Padme was dead at that point? Did Obi-Wan issue an intergalactic press release from that moon where she'd just kicked the bucket? Granted, he could've just been lying to Vader without even knowing her status, but that's a huge gamble to take had it turned out she was still alive. And don't even try to tell me he sensed she was dead. If the dude was that skilled with the Force, he would've also sensed her children had been born.

I wish it would hurry up. At least we'd have something to actually discuss. Other than screenshots and wishes.

Good thing. The early cut was retarded.

I disagree. Before we were discussing color timing, lightsabers, video quality, etc. and those arguments were very heated. They resulted in suspensions (me included ) but had nowhere near the degree of over-posting and off-topic discussion as the past few days.

You can't tell anything about movement from a YouTube video. It's all compressed to death and it causes all kinds of artifacts.

But in all these so-called examples that have been posted of CGI Yoda, I'm not sure I'm convinced that it's CGI. It still looks like a puppet to me. And if it is CGI, then they simply "painted over" the existing puppet and kept the puppet's movements. Notice the way the lips and ears move. It has the same limited and hesitant movement as the puppet IMO. If that's what they did, they might as well have kept the puppet. Although having said that, I happened to be at a retailer some months ago while Spike was playing Episode 1 and one of the things I noticed in high definition was that Yoda looked really rubbery. You could see that the surface of the puppet was rubber. It didn't come across to me that way when I saw it in a theatre. As I've posted before, sometimes increased resolution hurts the illusion, rather than helps it.

Years ago (and I think I've posted this before), I produced a teleconference (in SD) and we had sets built for it. When I went to see the sets, which used a lot of other recycled sets, they looked like crap. I complained to the director who told me not to worry - that they would look fine on camera. And they did. When HD came along, just the opposite happened. You can see every pore in an actresses face (most actors actually hate HD) and you can see every scratch and piece of dirt on a set. That's not necessarily a good thing, especially for the illusions that film needs to create. I'm a photographer and we go crazy trying to get sharp images, but when I process portraits in Photoshop, more often than not, I have to soften the images or the subjects will kill me. Back in the 1930s and 40s, it was common to film female stars through a stocking. And in Photoshop, when you use contrast effects to make photographic images seem more "painterly", you are reducing color depth which in effect, reduces resolution.

I could buy Anakin's whining more if it had anything to do with him being a slave for years, but he sounds more like someone who's worked someplace for a year or two and just complains that they should be the store manager by that time.
+ 1,000,000,000 Anakin's whining totally ruined the whole Darth Vader methos for me. I was like "seriously??? the baddest mo fo in the universe is really just a whinny little mama's boy?"

I'd like to Beavis in Ep III standing next to Palpantine lighting a cigarette and going "fire, fire, fire!"

There is so much nonsense in this thread, it is near impossible to gain anything meaningful from its existence. Has there ever been a thread on this site that has the same member posting over 500 times? Well, this thread has 5 members with over 500 posts - one member has close to 1,500 posts. You'd think they would've made their points by now. For those members that still want to talk about the Star Wars universe, we could leave this thread open for debating whether Padme was old enough to be queen of Naboo.

Thanks for listening.
Last thing we need is to have this discussion in more than one thread. In theory, your suggestion is sound, in practice it will not work. Carry on in this thread, things will get much better after the set is released...believe me on that . And, yes many members have been post whoring the last few days and suspensions will begin again.

Instead she's a single mom who dies because the father turns out to be a hunk of crap. Where would reality TV be if all women were so weak.
She got choked by a force field or whatever (not a two-second choke by a hand) that we don't know the affects of. Furthermore, she was choked by this field at a time when she was in the last stages of pregnancy with two children placing her body under incredible stress. Women's bodies are under stress when pregnant in any case. Many women have to stay in bed the last month of pregnancy and most are advised not to fly in the 9th month. Plus, while physically fit, she had a very small body to deliver twins. How do you know that she didn't rupture while delivering?

So you can say she died of a broken heart or you can say she died from the affects of the force field. How do you know that the force field didn't cause a blood clot which would lead to a stroke or heart attack?

And I have no idea why you're comparing this to reality TV. Are you saying that Lucas should have written the character to be more like the trailer trash or big-city loudmouth *****s who populate reality TV?

HDTV vs. BDRip

Episode 3:

Some of those HDTV shots look terrible.

This site needs to think about opening chat rooms, because that's the real crux of the issue. During these heated debates, people are back and forth at light speed(HAHAHA, bad one) and they are treating the forums as chat rooms.

It's the nature of passionate discussion. But we need to remember to respect each other.

Half of the issues that lead to these spiraling discussions is the dismissal of people's opinions.

Being called "Crazy" or an "Apologist" etc... for the so-called Sin of liking Episode 1 for instance.
