Give it some time; the disbelief/anger will pass and you'll appreciate the humor in it.

I don't understand how some people have their copies already. I stopped by a dvd shop today and asked if they maybe had it in the back storage but the seller almost had a fit telling me that he had to sign a contract making sure the boxset's would not be sold before the release date. So i wonder what countries are selling before.

After a lot of thought, I finally decided to cancel my pre-order for the Complete Saga. The only incentive was for the bonus material but I don't need to see that right now. I can wait for a great deal like BF or just watch the material on YT. I'd rather not give GL any more of my $ until the OUT is released on BD.

Sign a contract making sure they wouldn't sell the boxed set before release date? Riiiiiight. More than likely, there's a sticker on the box saying 'do not release until...'.

Anyhoo, occasionally you can find some websites that aren't very big that ship things really early... by a matter of a couple of weeks even. Some idiots at a store could have put it out early. Sometimes people have friends who work a store that will hook them up. There's also reviewers that get their copies early so... it's not like people getting things early is a big mystery. There's a multitude of reasons as to why people get things early.

Most highstreet shops will not sell it to a random customer who walks in off the street. If you're an employee then there's a good chance you could go home with a copy depending on how nice your manager is (or how sneaky you are)

The other thing that happens is that you are a friend of an employee or manager of a smaller indie retailer in which case they would be more willing to let it go early. (Which is the case 9 times out of 10 when someone gets a set a few weeks in advance)

Then you have the third situation. Pre orders online here in the UK already started shipping as of Tuesday/Wednesday. That means delivery will occur this Friday/Saturday before Mondays official release. (This happens with 99% of pre orders I've made with HMV.com Places like Amazon and Play.com are very hit or miss when it comes to early delivery. But HMV always arrives 2-3 days before street date.)

There have been instances where studios have forced stores to sign legal contracts to stick to the street date. If it's broken and the studio can prove it was broken by them then they can refuse to suply them with any future releases. This fact isn't widely known outside of the retail industry.

It's a threat, but nobody ever does it. It's just too mean.

Before all the Episode 1 action figures were set to street, A Snyder's Drugstore just started selling tons of figures all with "Do Not Sell Before April…" stickers.

Interesting:
The German Version of The new Vader "No" is much more subtle. Especially the first "No". It is acted way better and it fits better in the overall audio mix.

Listen:

I was very surprised.

Yes, thats exactly what it is. But most major chains will stick to it. The chances of astudio having proof that would hold up in court is slim. But the threat is still enough to put many retailrs off breaking street date.

Haha... I really hope you are not serious about this.
If you meant it fits very well into the overall horrible german dubbing, I can agree.

The No doesn't bother me. After they Changed Boba Fett's voice I can't bring my self to get upset about anything like that anymore.

I was 3 when ANH came out in May '77. I even recall seeing commercials for it and thinking "Man, this is gonna be great!" Went to see it in our old downtown theater the kind that has the triangular marqueue hanging off the front. 'Bout crap my pants when the Diagnoga came out of the Trash Compactor. But somehow the Cantina scene didn't bother me.

Then 3 years later, at the age of 6, went and saw TESB at our then new theater around the block, and 'bout shit myself when I first saw Yoda. Little green rat bastard scared the crap out of me.

And then don't even get me started about that long-necked big-noggined E.T. in '81.

But you gotta remember, prior to Star Wars, the public wasn't used to seeing realistic non-human aliens in films. Sure, Star Trek:TOS has aliens but you could tell that they were just people in make-up.

Anyway, to prepare for any ROTJ, I bought the comicbook adaptation before I saw the film. And good thing I did too, because I'm sure the Rancor would have had me running out of the theater.

Out of all films at the time, I think I enjoyed ROTJ the most as I think that was the first film that I went back to the theater to see multiple times. Saw it 3 times. I think it was because I liked all the new Imperial tech, such as the Lamda-Class Imperial shuttles, the speeder bikes, the AT-STs (which really got their screen time in this film) and of course Death Star II. Of course, the Moncalamari fleet with the MC-80 cruisers and the new Rebel fighters: B-wing and A-wings were cool too.

When the SEs came out in '97, I was 23. Loved the changes because I had seen some of the previews and so when watching the films, I was anxious to see them in full context. And then at the same time, I was disappointed that more of the saber and blaster fire effects weren't fixed.

So when the TPM came out in '99, I was 25, and for being the first new Star Wars film in 16 years, I liked it. However, after some post thought, the thing that began to no sit well, or at least, something that just didn't feel right, is that it just didn't feel like a Star Wars movie without Stormtroopers. But then again, we got the Clones in the next film, so I figured, "Well, here we go again...this is starting to look a lot more like Star Wars."

However, I think the CG-animated Clone Wars series has done more for Star Wars in the last 3 years than all the years since the films have been out. It has taken the focus off of the story of Anakin and shown us a lot more of the Star Wars universe, which is impossible to do during a 2.5 hour movie.

I'm serious.
It sounds horrible in english and quite well in german. because the german voice actor plays it much better and more subtle.
Still not necessary but also not that distracting

I know your position about dubbing already. You get never tired of mention that.
I think the German dubbing of the OT is fantastic. I like the Emperor even more than Ian Mcdiarmids original performance.
But this is a US Message Board. So we should not discuss this here.

I just wanted to show people that FOR ME the German Version of the first "No" fits much better in the scene and audio mix.

None of these movies have been changed as much as Highlander II: The Quickening. The original version with the planet Ziest and the "it's a kind of magic ending"
isn't even on DVD anywhere.

*I love Highlander 2, it's the perfect sequel to Highlander because if your protagonist is immortal- the sequel should take place in the future.

Actually, "must" and "of" are spelled correctly. It is just wrong grammar usage.
