A long time ago (in a galaxy... ) I read a post somewhere on this forum about Star Wars. It wasn't even in this thread, and was well before the Blus were announced.

This person had an interesting take/opinion that I had never read before:

It had to do with the conversation between Anakin and Palpatine in the 'opera' in Episode III and Darth Tyranus (-I know, probably wrong). I think it might have had some type of significance with Darth T and Anakin not having a father. It was a very long time ago that I read this, though.

Can anyone expand on thoughts/theories or point me in the direction of that post? I just remember thinking it was really interesting.

I'd love to read it again before I watch the Blus.

Thanks!
I thought I'd ask this again now that it is much later in the day. Maybe a different user could lead me to the post? I combed through the Star Wars thread (under 'Movies' section) looking for the answer and couldn't find it. I just remember it was something that really made me think. A couple of members had some great responses earlier, but I'm looking for the actual post if possible.

Also, I've watched these episodes in order (I-VI), I've watched the original first, then the prequels...

Assuming you like the prequels, can anyone recommend a different order to watch these in? Maybe bouncing back and forth (OT, PT) like a Taratino movie?

I think "Jedi" should be last, but what order for the other five?

I'm thinking maybe:

A New Hope (just because you have to)
Phantom Menace (sets the foundation)
Attack of the Clones (expands on foundation)
Empire (reveals major spoiler at the end)
Revenge of the Sith (spoiler expanded and explained from Empire)
Jedi? (closure)

And please, I know this thread can get heated: If you dislike the prequels, please don't reply. I respect your opinions as I've heard many arguments as to why they are disliked.

So what would your (out of order) preferred order be and why?

When you can barely tell the difference from the dvd compared to the bluray we have a problem! 35mm film remastering done correctly should blow the dvd out of the water.

As expected BBFC and IFCO logos on the UK set. I really wish they would stick them on the spec slip rater than the box like they do with 90% of Steelbooks!

Just to make things perfectly clear once again:
Everybody freaking out over how crappy those screencaps looks needs to look at how compressed the Blu-ray screencaps are. There's no difference in Blu and DVD quality when the JPEGs are roughly the same size. You've essentially compressed all the additional detail and resolution right out of the photo.

Again, crap job with the screencaps and everybody can calm down before this thread explodes over yet another pointless and irate debate.

No offense.

As far as I'm concerned Johnny Depp's "Pirates" nomination an Sigourney Weaver's "Aliens" nominations are infinitely more impressive than Ledger's unofficial Lifetime Achievement award.
Such truth.

Considering Lucas cant fix any of the acting in either the OT or the PT, who cares? Audiences have ALWAYS had to accept Star Wars for what it is... a B movie serial. I'm glad to pay money for that, but not to obsess over it like some people.

You just contradicted yourself. If you say that nobody can conclusively ever be able to say that outside factors didn't contribute to Ledger's award... then how can you possibly conclude that Heath Ledger's death had more to do with his award than anything in the film itself?

Do you not see the hypocrisy in your own statements?

You'd be in a tiny minority with that opinion.

I'm sorry but Hayden Christensen was horrible in the prequels. Here's a prime example
skip to 3:46. Pretty much all the dialogue and acting is horrible in that scene, but "don't make me kill you" is just laughable

On Amazon, the original trilogy is $39.99 but the whole saga is $89.99. Why is it more than double the price for the prequels?

I can't say for absolute but I have heard from many different people who have seen the BD rips say that the Yoda/Dagobah Scene is not in the movie. Although personal opinion I really think it should had been in there.

That's terrible, the deleted scenes on the Episode I, II and III DVDs weren't that long at all. I have no idea why they wouldn't include them on the Blu-Ray editions. Yes maybe they weren't made in HD, but who cares? It's pretty insulting, making us keep every version when you have a perfect way to put everything (like deleted/extended) scenes on one set. Especially when we have things like animatics, yes they're cool, but those seem like things to add after all the deleted scenes were included.

Hopefully they're on there somewhere... maybe this is just listing "new" items? Yoda on Dagobah would have been nice to see in HD. I doubt it's been re-added into the film though.

I agree. He's done better acting than he has in the prequels, but nothing above generic.

Save for a couple looks here in there (usually just a smirk or an attempt at an intense look...and the tear), he acts with his mouth. That is only a small portion of acting. Eyes gestures and body language are a large part of acting, because that is a major part of communicating human emotion in the real world.

He rarely acts with his eyes. Except when he shows anger. I'll give him that.

He is just not convincing as an actor. I read on Jedi Council Forum's that he "deserved an oscar" for his performance. Nice to see such high standards when it comes to acting. In fact, I would go as far to say that whoever said that KNOWS SQUAT ABOUT ACTING.

The animated characters all have great range of emotions displayed from both their motions and their voice actors. It's a shame the real actors come off as dry and emotionless.

And in response to all those comments about Harrison Ford's acting. Well, at least Ford has charisma.

I have a feeling Amazon will drop the price down some right before it comes out but really you have to look at it this way 40 bucks for the trilogies but they come minus the Three Bonus Disc so for 10 bucks more you are getting both Trilogies and the Three Bonus Disc. So really not to bad.

Just about anybody could have acted better then Christensen. He is one of the worst actors I have ever seen in my life and it's an "epic fail" that he was given the part. I would liked to have seen somebody who could have really enbodied the roll. When I think of some recent performances in which the actor/actress "became" the character, I wish Lucas would have picked wisely. For example:

Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lector
Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes
Heath Ledger as the Joker

These are performances in which the actor/actress becomes one in the same with the character and that's when you have a riviting performance. There was a chance for Lucas to pick someone who could have really got into the part considering he was really focusing on Vader for the prequels and he blew it royally!
