the kid that could do fire in x2 had a better fall to the darkside then hayden. it was more belieable. I agree about hayden. he was horrible in episode 2. I agree that he did do better in episode 3.

So I wonder what's going to be in the US version of the 'Guide to the Galaxy' booklet, since the images in the UK version of the booklet are already on the pages of the US packaging?

It's just a disc contents and credit listing. (At least thats my guess)

A couple of members had some great responses earlier, but I'm looking for the actual post if possible.
Not sure about the original question/theory, but this has always been my take on that scene and what it implies.

I've always felt that Anakin was obviously manipulated to become what he is by a Sith. His high midichlorian count wasn't natural. And to a Jedi, this would appear to follow their prophecy of "the one".

Now because Anakin wasn't the real prophecy and essentially a creation, this created an unbalance within the Force. And here's the kicker...the Force will always balance itself out. And the Forces answer was Luke. The true prophet. It was the Siths unnatural manipulation that brought them down in the end.

But I go even further with the theory because IMO it actually makes all the films better (Including the originals) From the way Palpatine acts, I would say it was he who manipulated the midichlorians and created Anakin. He is pushing him throughout all the films to turn to the dark side. So in a sense the Emperor was Anakins father. Now it would have been silly to do another "I am your father" scenario. But imagine the end of Jedi in this context...the Father (Emperor) is killed by his son (Anakin) who is than killed by his son (Luke) It just seem rather poetic IMO.

Wish they had included all of the commercials instead of the stupid spoofs.

i agree. The detail is great there.

Hey, the girl talking behind the counter in the Burger Chef commercial looks and sounds like the one in the original Willy Wonka who blew up into a big berry.

Raiders is my favorite film of all time. So that's a yes. But it's hard to choose one franchise over the other. I love all the Indy films, though the three sequels all suffer problems and got weaker and weaker as they went. I don't suffer nerd rage over Indy 4 because I don't view the first three through rose-tinted glasses. Temple Of Doom and Last Crusade certainly have their problems. And If I'm going to overlook those problems in those two, I can overlook them in KOTCS.

Ya, Close Encounters & Jaws would also be in my top 20. I must of watched Close Encounters on VHS as a kid a hundred times. And thankfully it has a great Blu-ray release. I think I've already watched the BD a dozen or so times.

Is it sad for a near 30 year old to tear up at the end of CET3K? When the aliens invite Roy to their ship, he looks back at Lacombe with a "should I go?" sort of face. And the brilliant John Williams throws in a musical cue from "When You Wish Upon A Star" from Pinocchio. Gets me everytime...

Especially when we have things like animatics, yes they're cool, but those seem like things to add after all the deleted scenes were included.

Hopefully they're on there somewhere... maybe this is just listing "new" items? Yoda on Dagobah would have been nice to see in HD. I doubt it's been re-added into the film though.
Would make one nice bonus Blu-Ray wouldn't they? They could put all original DVD prequel deleted scenes HD on one Blu-Ray. I am also a bit ticked that we apparently don't get to see C-3PO's coverings put on in AOTC, or Padme talking with Beru in the kitchen (I've seen a still of this scene) Or Kenobi's scene with Padme in ROTS. I cannot believe these were not included, I wish they would be included as an Easter Egg and or able to access online streaming somehow.

OK, I'd really like to know what kind of standard some folks are using, when they refer to someone as a "bad actor". In comparison to what? Your own opinion? Other actors? What the Academy thinks?

Also, some have said that Harrison Ford is the best actor in the OT. Again, I'd like to know how and/or why they've reached this conclusion. Is it because he's had the biggest overall body of live-action work, when compared to his costars? Even after 30 years, most know him as either Han or Indy, so what does that mean in context to anything else he's done?

How does anyone know anything is a good anything?

A good actor makes his role appear to be himself. They become that character.

A long time ago (in a galaxy... ) I read a post somewhere on this forum about Star Wars. It wasn't even in this thread, and was well before the Blus were announced.

This person had an interesting take/opinion that I had never read before:

It had to do with the conversation between Anakin and Palpatine in the 'opera' in Episode III and Darth Tyranus (-I know, probably wrong). I think it might have had some type of significance with Darth T and Anakin not having a father. It was a very long time ago that I read this, though.

Can anyone expand on thoughts/theories or point me in the direction of that post? I just remember thinking it was really interesting.

I'd love to read it again before I watch the Blus.

Thanks!
Are you sure it was on this forum, and not an anime forum.

So the menu is playing in 5.1 on my sound system but when the movie loads drops to 2.1. It's not running hdmi but as I stated the menu loaded 5.1 but as soon as you hit play it's 2.1. I only have A New Hope right now it was the only one I rented but kind of disappointed right now. I know the special editions on DVD play in 5.1. Anyone have explanation?

Can your receiver handle DTS-HDMA? Try pulling up sound options and manually checking the DTS-HDMA track.
