I`d be interested to hear what AV-gear you`re putting through its paces with these discs ?

Cheers,

Wow, just wow on both PQ and AQ. Stunning and very detailed, demo material.

Whenever you get the chance to watch SW, ESB, and ROTJ in their entirety, would you mind posting your thoughts on the music/dialogue/effects quality and their relation in the mix? Not to mention, video quality.

For me personally, what you've posted so far sounds great in terms of effects and dialogue quality and a disappointment musically, for me. I'm just curious if what you've sampled in SW(ANH) in relation to the music will carry throughout that film and the other two in the OT. I hope not.
Will do, will do a marathon this weekend. I have to say the music balance in the closing fight with Luke and Vader in ROTJ was perfect. The balance between music and effects is spot on, if anything the music is slightly higher in the mix.

It looks like it varies between scenes, if the music adds dramatic power, it is placed forward, if it is incidental and just filling, it stays furher back. Just saw Yoda's death scene in ROTJ and the music was dominant again. It is effective, the music is helping to tell the story and comes in just when you need it.

The picture quality for ROTJ is really exceptional. Detail and colour just pop.

Oh, one last thing, the blurred/out of focus part of ROTJ from the shuttle to the speeder bike is not at all blurred or out of focus. Must have been an issue with the rip?

Clear and sharp.

Another problem debunked I am happy to say.

Yes, I saw that the other night.... I stepped offline for an hour and on one page almost everyone was suspended. I had been part of the "conversation" just before that so I was lucky to have missed it.

Welcome back.

For those of you who are worried about the lightsabers in ROTJ. Most shots of them have been fixed. Vader's lightsaber still appears to be pink, but the hot white glowing core is back. Here are 30 shots!

Shots 11-20: http://screenshotcomparison.com/comp...9280/picture:0

Merlin,

Thanks for all these post. I've happy Ep 1 looks great as I felt that was the worst looking of the 6 movies (on DVD).

I also am very much looking forward to see the CGI Yoda as I just love the way Yoda looks and acts in 2+3.

So glad "Duel of the Fates" turned out great also. One of the best moments in the Saga - I did really like Quigon-Jinn.

Any chance the new Obi-Wan Krayt dragon scream sounds any better than it did on youtube?

Some will blame Natalie Portman's portrayal of Padme and she is a bit stiff but she's at her stiffest when in front of either the god-awful Jake Lloyd or Keanu Reeves inspired Hayden Christensen. How can you act convincing in front of a vacuum of human emotions like him?

And don't mention Ewan McGregor. He's just in another league. He's got great imagination to act with the CGI heavy sets and the dummy known as Heyden Christensen. And to say that they could have gotte someone taller, bigger and better at acting in Chris Hemsworth. Sad.
It ain't just Anakin. The acting with a few exceptions is terrible across the board in the prequels. Sam Jackson sucked in ROTS. I'll give him a pass in TPM since he didn't have much to do except stare at Anakin and exchange a few lines with Liam Neeson. Half his role in Episode II was twirling a lightsaber. But he actually had some moments in ROTS that required dramatic line readings and he looked like his mind was someplace else. The scene where Anakin tells him Palpatine's the Sith Lord is the worst offender.

Portman sucked too. This is an actress who just won an Oscar and was previously nominated for another one and I've never seen her do worse work. In fairness, she was forced to do an accent in the first one that was conspicuously dropped in the 3rd act. And the dialogue in all 3 movies was terrible. But it's obvious by the time ROTS rolled around, she didn't give a crap anymore. And don't blame it on acting opposite CG or pyrotechnics. She did just fine in Thor.

Hayden was bad, no doubt. But I reject the notion that he's just a lousy actor. Dude was good in Life as a House and especially Shattered Glass(although Peter Sarsgaard stole that movie). Maybe he just has issues with special FX flicks since I was equally underwhelmed by his performance in Jumper. Again like with Portman, he was given bad lines and little direction and the end results speak for themselves. It also didn't help matters that we're supposed to believe he was pining over a chick he met one time when he was 9 and didn't see again for 10 years and later on decided to slaughter his entire surrogate family because some evil, shriveled up Sith Lord who'd deceived the entire galaxy and caused the deaths of countless people in the Clone Wars promised to help him find some obscure way to keep his wife from dying. Even Olivier would've been hard-pressed to make that work.

And there were those supporting actors who've rocked in countless other roles only to stink up the joint in the prequels. For example, Terence Stamp, Ralph Brown, Rose Byrne, Jimmy Smits, Joel Edgerton, and Sofia Coppola(kidding about that last one). The only actors to actually shine in the prequels IMO are Ewan MacGregor, Christopher Lee, Temuera Morrison, and Ian McDiarmid(up until his face was scarred after which he also sucked).

Does this also happens in the Danish Subtitles ?

After all these reports from Merlinpants, I've decided to cancel my preorder with Amazon. NO SALE! ...

... because UPS delivery doesn't hit my house until 3-4pm. I'm hitting Target on the way to dropping my kids off at preschool at 8:30am so I can have a few hours home alone with my new baby My son will love the lithographs too.

It's gonna be a LONG week...

See your point, but if that was enforced strictly, either this thread would have a singledigit pagecount,or more than a fair few would be banned

Maybe stop now come to think of it
