Interesting, no they don't. Only the english subtitles follow the character. All others stay bottom centre of the picture.

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but really enjoy the OT.

When I first started buying Blu-rays, those were some of the films I would always think about (with LoA, ET, Spartacus , Alien(s) etc) so I'm just happy I'm going to see these looking and more importantly SOUNDING much better than ever before......

I guess I'm glad I'm a casual viewer in this situation, to the point where I can just pop these in and enjoy them without pulling my hair out over details.

I'll give him a pass in TPM since he didn't have much to do except stare at Anakin and exchange a few lines with Liam Neeson. Half his role in Episode II was twirling a lightsaber. But he actually had some moments in ROTS that required dramatic line readings and he looked like his mind was someplace else. The scene where Anakin tells him Palpatine's the Sith Lord is the worst offender.

Portman sucked too. This is an actress who just won an Oscar and was previously nominated for another one and I've never seen her do worse work. In fairness, she was forced to do an accent in the first one that was conspicuously dropped in the 3rd act. And the dialogue in all 3 movies was terrible. But it's obvious by the time ROTS rolled around, she didn't give a crap anymore. And don't blame it on acting opposite CG or pyrotechnics. She did just fine in Thor.

Hayden was bad, no doubt. But I reject the notion that he's just a lousy actor. Dude was good in Life as a House and especially Shattered Glass(although Peter Sarsgaard stole that movie). Maybe he just has issues with special FX flicks since I was equally underwhelmed by his performance in Jumper. Again like with Portman, he was given bad lines and little direction and the end results speak for themselves. It also didn't help matters that we're supposed to believe he was pining over a chick he met one time when he was 9 and didn't see again for 10 years and later on decided to slaughter his entire surrogate family because some evil, shriveled up Sith Lord who'd deceived the entire galaxy and caused the deaths of countless people in the Clone Wars promised to help him find some obscure way to keep his wife from dying. Even Olivier would've been hard-pressed to make that work.

And there were those supporting actors who've rocked in countless other roles only to stink up the joint in the prequels. For example, Terence Stamp, Ralph Brown, Rose Byrne, Jimmy Smits, Joel Edgerton, and Sofia Coppola(kidding about that last one). The only actors to actually shine in the prequels IMO are Ewan MacGregor, Christopher Lee, Temuera Morrison, and Ian McDiarmid(up until his face was scarred after which he also sucked).
I didn't mind Sam Jackson.. cause well.. he always acts like Samual Jackson. So you get that. As for Jimmy Smiths.. his role is small and he isn't bad nor good. Joel Edgerton has 3 scenes.. give him a break! Liam Neeson was okay. He's a professional. Christian Bale would have pulled of a good angry Anakin.

As for the Blu-ray (so that the forum police won't bite) It's release day buy for me.

I'm in Canada and thought (back in January) that the 26th was a Tuesday like most release date. Since I don't have time to marathon the whole saga during the week I've ordered the thing on amazon. But I've since, like you, canceled my order and will be at Best Buy's around opening time to fetch myself a ridiculously low 79.99$CAD set.

Danish is not an audio option on the UK set just subtitles, but if I switch to spanish the crawl is in spanish, so guess that is a yes.

Do we have a complete list of which retail stores are giving out freebies or other promotional / exclusive items?

I hear Amazon is giving out a film cel, then I hear Best Buy is as well (I wonder if it's the same if that's true), and now I hear Target is giving out lithographs?

Is there a site or page that lists all this information? I'm pre-ordered through Amazon. I doubt I'd cancel it, but I'm curious. I know I'm glad I got my Indiana Jones trilogy DVD at Best Buy, but at least they gave you an exclusive DVD!

Breather, you'll be pleased to know that watching ANH and the music is scene specific. Lukes theme was very forward in the mix when he appeared. It looks like they have tweaked it to match the emotional content of the scene. It is there when you want it to be.

And has this mistake in ANH been fixed? - han is meeting a large group of storm troopers - this was not in the original - they stood in front of a wall - a mistake was that the wall of this light was still shining through the floor

and any changes to the PT aside those aleady menioned?

How can you act convincing in front of a vacuum of human emotions like him?

And don't mention Ewan McGregor. He's just in another league. He's got great imagination to act with the CGI heavy sets and the dummy known as Heyden Christensen. And to say that they could have gotte someone taller, bigger and better at acting in Chris Hemsworth. Sad.
I know I'm always at my "stiffest" when I watch Natalie on screen!

Merlinpants, have the mixes for ROTS, ANH, ESB and ROTJ been sweetened at all, so that they're on par, or close to TPM and AOTC?

I would be interested in this as well. I have it ordered on Amazon, but I don't see any mention of any exclusive extras like film cells on the product page. I do see that Best Buy's page has a ROTS film cell listed with a picture of it, though.

In terms of sweetened you mean superb, then yes. Audio is exceptional across the set. I thought the music mix was drowned out, but it isn't. It comes forward when you want it too and stays in the background when it is just filling dead space.

Would like to know this as well. If there is actually a worthwhile exclusive, I may purchase the set. As of now, still holding out. Will see what the 3D releases bring.
