Anyone else receive a similar email from Amazon?

Mark Hamill, et al "Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) [Blu-ray]"

WTF happened to release date delivery? Amazon's product page currently shows:

So much for preordering months in advance. Guess Amazon can't even figure out the required inventory for release date orders even when they have seven months notice in advance.

I upped mine to 1 day shipping and it still says the estimated delivery date is Sept. 19th. If they are right, I will be livid.

Just found this trick in the Hot Deals forum. Now my order shows a 16 Sept delivery date.

Doesn't work for me. It now says the 20th. It could be because I am in Alaska, but I have gotten things before the release date before...

Interesting ... I had 2-day shipping and reselected/confirmed 2-day shipping and the date changed to the release date. I didn't try going from 2-day to 1-day back to 2-day.

Call them and to speak to a representative and if you don't get anything but a empty apology than demand to speak to a supervisor I did last year when I didn't get my shrek box set on release day, I got it a day later cause I got my shipping sped up to one day and I got a $20 credit for my amazon.com account. Don't stop calling til they give you something, if I am lied or misled I am going to get something that is for sure.

Weird, I wonder why so many people are having a problem with same day shipping now. I had mine pre-ordered from May and I cancelled it and waited till it was in my Gold Box then got it for 5 bucks off same day shipping bringing it down to 85.49 Then this morning I cancelled mine again and re-ordered (Amazon must love me lol) for the 79.99 price and was able to get 2day same day shipping again.

When the set was first announced and made available for pre-order on Amazon, the original release date Amazon listed was Sept 27. If you pre-ordered before the official release date of the 16th was announced, your order would still show the 27th as the release date. I assume Amazon switched the ship date to the 20th because that is the soonest Tuesday after the release date. Most media items in the US are released on Tuesdays. My guess is that if you cancel your preorder & the re-place the order, it should fix your problem, but don't quote me on that.

Thanks. If that's the case then Amazon needs to work on get those remaining issues/bugs worked out of there system. I reconfirmed the shipping speed (Amazon assumes it was changed) and the delivery estimate was updated to the release date. I didn't want to cancel and reorder since my original order includes a gold box discount.

Originally my date was set for the 27th. When the official date of the 16th was announced, I decided to see if it switched. Unfortunately it didn't. You have to do it manually. Just take ur shipping method, select another, and then select it back to what you had. Now for me, I have Amazon Prime, so 2 day shipping is free, I reselected 2 day and it changed to the 16th. Now it also could be your region u live in, or since so many have pre-ordered them they can't ship them all on release date.
Edit: Never mind, it seems like you took care of it

My set came in today at my local shop, sadly I don't have the cash for it until payday next friday. It pisses me off when I have to wait.

But I paid $250 for the Laserdisc box set of Star Wars that came with the book with no slipcover. I went and bought another just so it would have that dust jacket.

$80? Come on, that's more than worth it. No brainer.
If one were to upscale the UOT on to Blu Ray by putting it into the computer and then out again what is the best source to use the WS DVD or WS Laserdisc?

If someone could workout what the actual pixels x pixels difference is between the actual image information of the two excluding the black bars that would be most helfpul.

Many thanks in advance.

He only mentioned in a off handed comment in Time Magazine the possibility of Episodes 7,8, and 9 he also mentioned 3 trilogys in the forward of a book but he never had a solid story for them .I am sure he had ideas but He always felt the drama lied in Anakin's redemption and Luke Skywalker / Starkiller helping bring that about while freeing the galaxy .GL once said "I get asked all the time, 'What happens after Return of the Jedi?,' and there really is no answer for that. The movies were the story of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, and when Luke saves the galaxy and redeems his father, that's where that story ends." .
The 6 films form a very well woven theme of redemption aswell as of loss and gains and the basic Hero's Journey whilst adhering very closely to the mythological principles that have been around for 1000s of years .
