Woohoo!!!

I thought so.

Thanks for all your posts regarding the quality of the set!

I am glad to hear that you are very happy with it!

Can't wait to get mine!

No lossless audio is only half of the BD experience, and there has never been a better time to upgrade than NOW, for SW!!!!

Have any of you guys, who live abroad, received a new BD on release day, when selecting "Priority International Courier (averages 2-4 days)"????

I don't want to get the U.K, set, as I don't like the design and rating logos...., so
I've always use priority shipping and I've never receive anything on release day. It usually arrives 2 days later, and in the case of Star Wars that to be released on Friday I will only receive it on Monday.

Alright, thanks. I think I can deal with a 2 day delay.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but Amazon's price has fallen to $79.99. I emailed them to get my order adjusted, as it hasn't been done yet. Also, I went in and re-did my shipping speed from 2-day to 2-day (lol) and the delivery date changed from 9/27 to 9/16. I think they may not be doing it automatically because of the volume or pre-orders they have.

This just goes to show that if Lucasfilm had put in a TINY bit more effort, and encoded them anamorphically, those DVDs of the OT would have been pretty darned good.

No. If a master is 4:3 letterbox, it can't be made into an anamorphic release because the pixels needed to do that doesn't exists. Unless they'd just digitally zoom the available picture, the same thing you're doing with your TV.

They zoom, you zoom... the end result is the same.

I'm asking here because I am seriously considering upgrading my surround sound for the Star Wars blu-ray. Right now my ps3 down converts it to regular dts through bit stream, and I wonder if upgrading to the Sony SS380 will be a very noticeable difference.
Here is my opinion. Yes. I used blu-ray for a year with my old receiver before it died. Once I upgraded to my Yamaha - and got lossless - I certainly could tell a difference.

To me, it's much better.

This. I went out and got a giftcard with my income tax refund and haven't missed a penny since. I usually wait until refund time for expensive blus. Makes it alot easier on the wallet.

While I'm not too happy with some of the changes, the story itself is still intact, and with "Star Wars" I'm all about the story! Friday just can't get here soon enough!

Anakin was still just plain dead in the first draft of Empire, he wasn't merged with Vader until later Empire drafts (and even then Vader's claim was still just a claim - nothing was set in cement) and the decision to redeem him or not wasn't made until the final drafts of Jedi. This is somewhat important - this redemption - which was supposedly central to the trilogy the entire time - was never even introduced until the last drafts of the last movie.

And yet we're to now believe this redemption was not a cobbled-together last-minute plot development but was rather the entire point of the entire operation all along.

I dunno, color me skeptical.

I don't think that is true. There are notes about Anakin from 1973 that appear on the DVD special features. George had notes that Anakin was a natural with machines at a very young age (and I think that he could just walk up and fly something with no training, etc). We see that in Ep 1. but it's from his 1973 notes.

Well i have to say that those shots at ZonaDVD look the business

...i may come round to this release yet, though i would rather wait for a great deal on each trilogy boxes rather that get the full saga set with extras that i don't ever want to watch.

...a price of 19.99 GBP for each trilogy would be right on the money for me!

I remember that as a topic at work over 30 years ago. Has anyone heard of what the plot for episodes 7, 8, and 9 were going to be?

Default Will Original Trilogy Have Extras?

Does anyone know if the Original Trilogy will have extra features? Are they only included in the complete Star Wars Saga? I am not a big fan of the Phantom Menace but don't mind the AOTC and actually enjoyed ROTS.

Only commentaries. More info about the discs can be found in the second post in the first page.

The 3 extra discs only exclusive to the complete saga.
