I canceled my order and then reordered it at the 79 price done deal

That was slick.

Re: Watching original Star Wars on DVD

Until George Lucas changes his mind, its the best we got so I'll glad stick with A New Hope and Return of The Jedi when it comes to that!

Yes I agree with you it will be up to your own personal opinion.

But I still maintain the screenshots and videos being posted looked far worse than the fellowship disc when I finaly watched it.

That ridiculous change is not Hayden. I guess those people did not even watch it.

Yeah, the (in)famous yell at the end of "Jedi" sounds like either an altered recording by JEJ, or possibly a soundalike. Either way, its not enough to sway me from wanting this boxset.

Some people do not bother checking things for themselves, they just swallow whatever the Internet is giving them

I think the only way the yell would have stopped me buying the set was if they used Jar Jar's voice!

I thought they used the commentaries from the 2004 DVDs?

Not arguing or defending color shifts... but most HDTVs have those "warm" and "cool" settings which do a red or blue color-shift to everything you watch... and a lot of people seem to really like those settings.

I think movie studios are trying to guess what the public wants and then shift the movie that way in advance.... of course if you are already shifted the same way, then it becomes a more intense shift OR cancels it out if your TV is shifted the opposite way.

I kind of like the idea of video and audio being level-set at a desired general neutral level (except of course where you intentionally want to mess with the balance to set the scene/mood) and then people can adjust.

Like... I don't want some of my movies louder than others... I wish they were all recorded at a base level with all effects and voice relative so I can turn it up or down as I see fit instead of having to re-adjust for each movie.

The same can now be said of colorshifting in the video.

They are the exact same cuts of each an every film. dvdworldusa is talking through it's arse!

If you put the UK discs in a Region A player you even get the FBI warnings appear.

Also the BBFC rating has been online for about a week stating that the previous cuts have been waived. (Passed uncut)
