9 disc BD set of such an iconic series for $20? Never gonna happen. The lowest I see it ever getting is $49.99. Maybe...just maybe $39.99

And this whole 3D version may not happen. The latest word I saw was that they may do just TMP and if it doesn't do good at the BO, they may not do any more.

The No. NOOO bugs me a bit, yes. But not enough to cancel a order or anything or not buy it.
If you already haven't seen it, when you do, you will be laughing your @ss off when you hear him say the first No.
It sounds like Darth Vader is telling a child No to candy.

To be fair...

If he was "Money Grabbing", he'd release every version ... because there is a market for them.

You do get 1080p lines of information on a 2.35:1 blu-ray,it's just part of it is projected as the black bars.

So you get the same vertical resolution as on a 1.85:1 movie, when you relate it to its own individual aspect ratio.

An anamorphic lens will alter the 2.35:1 image to fit a ultra wide screen, but you create no extra resolution as the source is still native 16X9,and you still have to accomidate 1.85:1 type ratios by adding bars at the sides of the image.

So you either have constant height on a 2.35:1 type screen or constant width on a 1.85:1 type screen.

My supplier received the US version of Starwars today, and they usually get releases 2 weeks before. Seems this one has been held back more than usual.
Hopefully ill have mine tomorrow.

Haven't heard the changes (nor saw any videos of them on purpose), guess I'll have a surprise with the end of Jedi

Don't know how the Obi Wan howl sounds but the 2004 one was also awful (a high pitched sound, could have been a car alarm..). IIRC the original version was a Krayt Dragon howl, wished they simply sticked with that one (or tried to recreate it).

That was a price mistake on a year old release where most orders that were online got cancelled. In store the price was honor'd till the information went down and we're told to take it off the shelf. I myself order'd one on target.com in the wee hours and it had it cancelled automatically by target without asking me if I wanted to wait for availability.

Thoe I fully expect star wars to go onsale for Black Friday. I expect it to be a amazon Gold Box deal more then a in-store special at some location.

Wal-Mart has a poster featuring Boba Fett on the Boga-like mount. The same art from one of the pages of the Super Digibook.

It's called staggered release.
Make the fans buy each version as they come out instead of having them pick one of many versions released simultaneously.

Is there a new Darth Vader helmet with the new "No..... Nooooooooooo" dialog yet?

I see more and more posts that make me laugh.

10 days ago it was mostly

"I will never buy this set not even to save the live of my grand mother"

and now we see more and more

"I will buy this set when the price goes down"

I am thinking the 24% claiming they will never buy it should be cut in half to about 12%.

I see I added Alien boxset 18 oct, 8 days before release. I dont add to collection until my supplier has it in store, and I then have it in hand the next day or max 2 days later.
But yes, similar delay.

Nice.. bought my SW: The Complete Saga today and tried to watch it. Nope.. Piece of shit PowerDVD 11 crashes after 15 minutes of watching. Always the same thing, Avatar, Watchmen, Wall-E, new blu-rays dont ever work straight away with this Cyberlink shit. Well maybe they will update their software someday. Then i might get to watch these movies.

Why are you buying the US set, Shallow... the discs are byte for byte 100% identical to the Scandinavian set. Subtitles are the same etc... you really like the inconvenient US packaging that much?
