There's technically 26, there's this other Pepsi drink that had Obi-Wan and Qui-Gonn. I used to have all 26, but they exploded on the shipment when I moved from Kentucky to Germany in 2003. Such a heartbreak to find them and junk them when I moved in to my German home.

Man how are people finding these early? Don't the stores that break street date get fined or something?

"Relax Kid" couldn't resist

amazon has been good at delivering my packages on release days. Sometimes they don't even ship items out (for me) until very late the day before and have still received them on release day. A few times they even sent out items the day of and I still received them on release day.

if you are worried cancel your order. Some Best Buys might be having midnight release parties. I know at least one Best Buy in Chicago is having a midnight release party with storm troopers on hand. Then you can always price match target's price too since Target does not open until 8am and sometimes their popular new releases supposedly "sell out" like X-men did but maybe its because x-men was an exclusive.

It's not illegal to break street date. LOL

A major chain would never break the street date, as they cannot risk Fox not shipping any more titles to them.

Smaller stores don't really have tabs kept on them. I guess if the same store sells every release early, they will get some kind of a warning...

All big releases hit the streets early, and I doubt Lucasfilms cares TBH. Each copy that is in someone's hands now has already been paid for.

I am thinking the 24% claiming they will never buy it should be cut in half to about 12%.
I've always been consistent in saying that I hate the new changes, dislike large parts of the prequels, but will buy the 9-BD set (mostly for Disc 9's old-school commentaries) when it hits $50. The documentaries on Disc 9 ("The Making of Star Wars", "SPFX", and "Classic Creatures") easily cost more than that on the used Laserdisc scene, so it's a good deal from that point of view.

Thinking of doing the same since the ups guy delivers my items between 2-5pm and its usually more around 4pm. However I am low on funds til who knows how long so I may have to skip on this for now too

Star Wars release parties are fun tho. It fun to see people dress up like Star wars characters in line.

I think it's because we live in the age of instant gratification. Just waiting for the release isn't enough. People need the feeling that they almost have the product in their hands, even if it is still a long way off. Pre-ordering provides this sensation. Now that the release is almost here the pre-order has fulfilled its purpose and they cancel it, even when the chances are that it arrives on time for the release. It's totally irrational but that's how it goes.

I believe it's from 'Hardcore', which is very heartbreaking, and knowing it's context...makes this mashup vid an utter fail.

Now, for the ones who have these BDs already, can you please answer a question???

In the opening shot of 'A New Hope'...did they manage to fix the color of the Star Destroyer's lasers that Lowery happened to scrub out on the 2004 version?

Also...anybody got a pic of that shirt that BB is giving away with this set???

.

Here's a pretty funny clip of Ewan McGregor finding out that Episode II is going to be titled "Attack of the Clones." Just a little something for you "real fans" and "haters" to enjoy while you wait to buy the set (or not buy it, as the case may be).

I love it because me and my friends all reacted the same way-- so silly.

Sure the Blu Rays are going to be better than their DVD and HDTV counterparts. But Special Editions and UOT debates aside, whichever version of the films we are getting are NO WHERE near what they could have been.

Expect a lot of positive reviews in the coming weeks as everyone gets caught up in the excitement and hype of the release. The same thing happened with the 2004 DVDs. A year down the line people will have a more realistic view of this release, just as people eventually did about the 04 DVD release.
But then we have something to look forward to, yes?
I'm already looking forward to the 2018 version, new HD masters, remastered, and a whole new set of fixes/changes.

I'll be very happy to be able to pick this up in a few days, but I too wonder why they didn't scrap the 2004 Lowry clean-up, and do a new 4K restoration for I, IV, V, VI. I really wouldn't think they would do it this way just to save a few bucks.

I am really excited to hear the audio on E.IV. It's always been the most problematic of them all on DVD for audio quality, but from what I've read, Matthew Wood has done an amazing job of restoring it.

Can anyone confirm whether this audio mess-up was fixed?

When Luke slices the wampa's arm in ESB, you see him running out of the cave with his lightsaber still on, but you hear the lightsaber turn off.

Has this been fixed?
