Great review! To anyone who knows the answer:
I just cancelled my pre-order with Amazon and tried to do a pre-order for store pickup for the Saga on Bestbuy.com, but it says that none of the stores in my area allow it? Is this because they've already reached a limit on pre-order reserves, or is it because they just don't allow it for this particular release?
I really want to pick this up the morning of...do I have a shot?

I am going to bet that the complete saga box will be sold out just about everywhere by Monday. Just a guess, but we're talking about the most recognizable franchise known to film.

You could always call around. It may be that they either sold out of their pre order allotment and will only have in store copies or it could mean they haven't updted the system yet.

Well, I plan on getting it Friday morning when stores open...I suppose if Iget there early enough I could secure myself a copy.

I don't buy online. Actually, I've ordered three records and 1 blu-ray online, but the blu-ray was from free Amazon.ca gift cards I got by collecting points.

Because I can get it cheaper, with free shipping and no sales tax. Plus, they arrive on release day or a day early. I buy everything online.

How we doing on custom covers? Whichever Saga set I get (US or UK), I'm hoping to house the disks in 3 regular sized 3-disk cases (Prequels, OT, extras).

+1. Saves gas too. This is also why I watch 10-15 BDs a month from Netflix.

Like many I'm disappointed to hear about Lucas' tampering, for those who own the original trilogy, the version I want to purchase, just how irritating are they?

It isn't on there in full, but select parts are. Not many though.

Good thing my surround sound system is in the basement and the subwoofer can't be heard outside. I just wish I'd have the house to myself for the weekend!

I'm obviously not a Star wars nut, but I grew up with the originals and I don't think I ever watched the special editions all the way through. And I only saw the prequels once, when they came out. So I'm looking forward to seeing all of these again, simply because its been so long. I do remember liking Attack of the Clones best though, of the prequels.
