I didn't like the Hayden change to ROTJ for the first few years.
But now, I've gotten used to it.

Besides, when my 8 year old daughter sees SW, Hayden will always be Anakin. So for the kids, it makes more sense than 80 year old Sebastian Shaw - he's really not Anakin.

I think GL did it for the kids who did (and will) grow up with PT and Clone wars cartoon.

Ok but the quality - come on mate, seriously? Surely they could have commissioned a proper artist rather than getting some kid to do it with their feet.

I mean look at Leia FFS hahahaha

Very good point. However, studies show that the ONLY people who HAVEN'T seen Star Wars are the Amish, and they dont have the internet to see this spoiler anyways.

I believe that he was referring to the CGI effects from the OT as being dated.

As that would make sense.

Custom Covers I've made for the Full Saga (with a little screen cap help from emb531). Still haven't decided what I will do with the bonus discs.

Holy crap I hadn't seen that larger than youtube video size and quality yet and I see now why everyone is saying Leia looks so creepy. I mean seriously what in the hell she looks like she's about to murder everyone in the photo in a glee filled murderous rampage and then make hats out of their skin.

Also I love how George Lucas is so randomly thrown in right behind Dooku and one last thing is it just me or does Liam Neeson look kind of like a he has been mixed with Shaquille O'Neal?

Went to Toys R Us tonight just to see about pricing and the manager confirmed both PT Blu-ray and OT Blu-ray will be on sale for $29.99. So $10 a film if you don't care about the extra discs. Not bad.

Hmmm, $20 dollars savings. And I really NEVER watch extras. Normally I could give a sh*t about packaging to. But this is Star Wars, if the packaging helps preserve the discs, for this title only, I may pay the extra $20.00.

I'd say in the long run, the individual trilogies will protect the discs A LOT better than the Complete Saga box.

The only reason I'm buying the Saga is to get the bonus discs. Otherwise I'd spend the extra $10 or so for the separate trilogies.

If it means some of the content being in SD, fine, but it still could have been included.
I agreed with your entire post but I'm just quoting the most relevant part to my reply.

It would have taken just one BD-50, making this a ten disc set instead of a nine, to port over the content from the OT bonus DVD, the three prequel bonus DVD's, and even the "Star Wars: A Musical Journey", "Story of Star Wars", and R2D2 bonus DVD's. Those seven discs represent slightly less than 46GB of content. Considering that material is already owned by Lucasfilm and wouldn't require new transfers, it would have likely increased the price of the set no more than $10.

We would have received 2 discs of all new HD bonus features and 2 discs of "classic" SD bonus features with a few new/previously unreleased HD features thrown in. 10 discs on a Star Wars saga release would not have been unreasonable nor unexpected.

DVD is a dying format so including all the previous DVD features on one additional BD-50 should have been a no-brainer. Look at all the other releases that carry over the features. Having to hold onto VHS/LD/dvd-r's is even more ridiculous.

Porting over the DVD features would have left just "From Star Wars to Jedi" and the three sets of LD special features as the only ones not carried over. That could have been easily rectified with some better choices on Disc 9. Dump the 501st doc and you've got room for "From Star Wars to Jedi" and the "Making of the Special Edition" feature from the '97 LD set. I doubt many of the spoofs are true HD anyway, so a better choice would have been for the Spoofs doc to be standard definition. This would have opened up disc space for all of the extras from the '93 Definitive Collection LD release as well as the Lucas interview from the '95 Faces LD set. This would have also left enough room for the standard definition version of "Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed" from the History Channel.

I don't care if previous extras are brought along in HD. They were in SD to begin with and I'd rather have them all instead of just a few carried over in HD. I only care about newly-produced special features being in HD.

Yes, Lucas doesn't have a history of carrying over special features. On the other hand, that "rule" shouldn't apply anymore. With VHS, LD, and DVD, space was at a premium and it's understandable that they didn't want to sell mega-tape/disc sets. Blu-ray is different. It's an archival format and likely the last home video format and one BD-50 can hold more than 5 dual-layer DVD's combined.

Considering that it would have taken one additional BD and two better choices on Disc 9 to have given us all previous special features, you've got to wonder what Lucasfilm was thinking on this one.
