It's snobbery at best, attention whoring at worst.

The Complete Saga will sell the majority of units because of this truth.
I think this is the comment to sum up this entire thread... and you are absolutely right. Just because the bashers are omnipresent and very loud and irritating doesnt mean their opinion is the truth.

I was there at 1235 or so and when they rang me up, stated it was 79.95, and that it had been 89.99 just moments before. I guess the late bird gets the worm.

Also they were giving out free posters, I got an epic image of Boba Fett riding a Boga.
I also went over to walmart to get the star wars boxset. there were several people ahead of me when I got there at midnight. I was the only one that brought the target ad with me. the people before me got the higher price. when It was my r turn the cashier had to get a manager to work things out to change the price on it. after me it was the 79 dollar price. they didnt have the poster on hand when selling the boxset. I was able to give them my name and phone number so they would call me in the morning.

Not wanting to start anything, as to each his/her own as far as prequals love or hate - but every single person waiting in my Walmart tonight went for the complete saga. They actually had none of them out (had forgotten to unpack those boxes) and when they unveiled the display with just the separate trilogies, we all milled around making sure we weren't missing them and then all as a pack went up and got them to get the completes out

I hope that's true! I never got why people didn't like the prequels. Lucas stayed true in style and structure and most of all he did it respectful to the OT. It's not that he did change (like so many people say) but the world changed around him. You could easily switch the trilogies... If E1-3 had come out in 77 the Episodes 4-6 would attract bashing and hate nowadays.

At first, I was into the Expanded Universe, but after
[Show spoiler]they killed off Chewbecca in the Vector Prime novel
, I gave up. It didn't help that the Prequel Trilogy screwed up the some of the canonical novels with those films contradicting things plus there's SO many books, its hard to keep track of all that crap anyway. Ugh!

I wanted it at midnight too, but no Best Buy stores in my state were doing midnight launches. I could have gone to Wal-mart, but like you, I'd rather have the RZ points. I think I can handle waiting till the morning, if it means I earn a few more bucks toward a future purchase. When the prices can be matched at Best Buy for almost anything, that's where I like to buy it from. No other store gives me points toward future purchases.

Been a fun few months, folks. Enjoy your sets.
Now he can finally enjoy them in Full HD 1080P and lossless 6.1 DTS HD

That quote was from some gossip site, with no mention of it by any other website. Have you ever heard a filmmaker/ studio sayin something like that?

I'm so pissed I rented Thor on Vudu and had the volume cranked and when he came down I heard a POP from one of my surrounds Yup I blew out one of the woofers the day before getting star wars. I had people coming over to watch them tonight. Ughhhhh. Going to have to wait till next friday.

I had free super saver shipping and mine shipped yesterday. Hopefully I'll have it Monday.

Did anyone go to Wal-Mart at midnight?

I ordered my copy from amazon, but I had to run into Wal Mart for something else so I went to look at the set. They only had the two individual sets at the front of the store, you had to go clear to the back with the rest of the v/a stuff to get the complete saga..which I thought was a little odd. Surely they could have found room on the display for all three.

I did, and they price matched without me needing to show them the Target/Best Buy ads. Had a $50 gift card left over from Christmas, so it ended up costing me only $36.56 after tax.

I did Pretty low-key here, small city i guess. There was 10 of us i think waiting for them to unveil at midnight. In my waiting time i also picked up a Mace Windu figurine which is sitting by the TV as i watch TPM

Poster wasn't any incentive for me to be there at midnight, i just wanted the set. But i'm definitely happy with getting that as a bonus!

What does the poster look like? I didn't know they were giving away posters.

I'm wondering what the disconnect with the Walmart's is in regard to pricematching. We have some saying there was no issue, some had to haggle, and some downright couldn't get it

Glad i got mine at the good price anyways.

That image in poster form (dont have my own photo of it yet). I like it because there's no writing on it at all, so it looks like an art piece rather than some promotional thing.
