DMP-BD60. Never had this issue with other discs. And the same discs play on my other players. Very strange.

I know everyone's tired of the "where is my copy!" posts, but I got so excited when mine shipped on 9/14 via something called LaserShip. As of this morning, no updates at all, item is still "in transit from seller's facility."

I looked up LaserShip on Amazon, and there are literally 57 pages of complaints ranging from: 1) driver couldn't find house; 2) driver left package at house (no package there though); 3) driver left package at front desk/reception (of a single-family residence); 4) seller delivered unit to wrong facility; and others.

Sigh. Jealous of all of you who are enjoying yours -- can't wait to see these and my expectations are high.

EDIT:
I sheepishly recant my testimony as the thing was delivered before 9:00 a.m. today to my house.

Oh, I got the Darth Maul one as I live in Mississauga. I believe Futureshop only gave the Vader one out in Quebec. I don't even know what to do with it. Ha.

After watching ANH, TESB, ROTJ i was left a liitle bit flat. ROTJ showed the most that a new scan was needed. At times it looked like the film had a smear effect and the grain was so static you could tell it was added later. Watch Vaders shuttle when landing on Endor. Endor looked awful with colours all over the place and a complete lack of detail in any medium shots.

ANH and TESB at least tried to hide its faults. Overall all three films suffer awful colour saturation, crushed blacks, static grain and A New Hope suffers the worst case of halo effect i have ever seen. Watch when R2 goes is own way from CP30 in the desert. Look at the force field arround those moutains. It puts the original Gladiator's blu ray to shame.

What i don't get is how 5 years into blu we are still dealing with these issues with the major big releases. The reason why this release will get away with a 7 year old master for a blu ray release is because this is the one film series were fans will except anything as long as its better than the dvd and will buy in buckets.

I got my set last night at walmart. i posted about getting it.
onto the movies.

I know that some people are complaining about the original versions not being on the set. however I believe that the new sound mix sounds more like when I saw the movies in the theater. its been a while since I saw the movies. when watching a few minutes of the opening. it did feel that way. i watched the opening for episode 1, 2,3 and 4. I watched other bits from episode 4.
hopefully this make sense to others. I must say the PQ on episode 1 was pretty amazing. night and day difference over the dvd for sure.

There are probably 7-8 Targets in my area. Only 1 of them doesn't use any sort of security device, even on box sets. However, I go to that Target this morning about 15 minutes after they open, and they have their SW cardboard display up at the front registers. It's filled with the lithographs, and the 2 separate trilogy sets. 0 complete sets. I had someone scan the bar code, and it said there are 39 in the store. So they call over to the Customer Service desk and ask where they might be. The CS replies that they have them back there and were told to pull them from the display.

The reason? They're back there putting the spider wraps on them. Ugh. Luckily they hadn't started doing that yet, so I got a mint copy. I told the lady back there that those devices ruin the box set if they're put on too tight, and she of course, gave me the blank "so what?" look. I HATE those devices. It's why I rarely buy a box set in store because Best Buy is about the only place left that doesn't consistently use them.

I would have ordered from Amazon, but I already had 2 Target gift cards to use, so I got it there. Just glad I got there before they destroyed the packaging...again.

Even though this set has some unwanted changes, I still had that rush when I was heading in the store looking for the set. You guys know what I'm talking about. The kind of rush when you're about to buy an A list title.

A pretty good morning, the Sun is out and I am not going to sit back and enjoy the Blu-ray. I will come back a little later to share what I think of the set.

May the Force be with us all!
The big one cost $150, and here, a mom of a fan won it, and she doesn'nt even buy anything!! Anyway, I got the lithograph and the mini lightsaber!

I've been at the Ottawa's Futureshop @ 8:00, and it was the Darth Vador Lightsaber too.

I certainly want the set in mint condition. Those spider wraps can put a hurtin' on box sets.

Default Walmart Poster

Have anybody gotten the Walmart poster?

I'd love to see it.

The Walmart near my house could not find the poster or the Blu-Rays this morning. Really bugged me that they wouldn't agree to put one aside for me (as I took time out of my day to stop to buy something they could not provide due to being unorganized).

Just wanted to add - won't have time after work to stop so Best Buy gets my business at lunch. Sorry, Walmart!

Really wanted a poster though!

I went to Walmart this morning at 8am and all the Complete Saga blu's were sold out. Apparently, they sold out last night at 12:01am!

Very disappointing to say the least. I asked and the guy said they only order 15 copies! So, they thought there might not be 16 people to buy SW Saga today? How crazy is that.

So I drove 15 min to Target and they had plenty of copies. Whew! I wonder if my BB sold out last night as I think they also were open at 12:01.
