i don't get how anyone can watch in that order. V and then I.. It does not make sense watching in that order they do not connect. because V is so closely tied with VI Lando telling to Leia they will search for Han and then VI starts with them searching for him.

The right order is I.II.III.IV.V.VI - that is the way they are meant to be seen if you got the complete saga

You're right. Anakin Skywalker was a teenage girl.

Watching these starting tonight. The only night we'll skip is Sunday since the Falcons/Eagles game should be good. If its an early blow out, we'll do a SW flick. Otherwise, we will be done by late next week. Im so pumped.... this is the best day ever.

Gonna do them in chronological order for a change - my 12 year old daughter says lets try them that way and Im on board with that!

The Phantom Menace / s2Mikeys Mini-Theater / Show starts at 8:30pm

I think he was just trying to keep a wholesome image of his father and give him a sense of his linage. Plus he says "Your father 'would have' wanted you to have this", not that he actually said "hey give this to my son". So it was a way of manipulating Luke into becoming a jedi, IMHO.

BTW has anyone found out how to access the hidden "holiday special clips" that are supposedly buried in this set?

If you are new to Star Wars, you should start with episodes IV-VI. Fortunately, Star Wars is not like Harry Potter, where you have to sit through two crappy movies in order to get to the good stuff later on. With Star Wars, you can skip the crappy movies and come back to them later if you're really curious or a masochist.

Yes. It's at the end of each of the films before it goes back to the Main Menu. And it sounds amazing.

I like that a lot too. I have a plasma, and I'm a bit anal about pausing it for more than just a minute or two. With this feature, I can just hit stop, and not feel like I need to hurry back.

+1,000. I totally agree. Weve seen them plenty and I dont mind trying them 1,2,3,4,5,6. Newbies MUST however watch them in their released order!

Anakin, before he turned, certainly would have wanted Luke to have it. That's probably why Ben took it in ROTS. Between AHN and ROTJ Ben pretty much tells Luke they he considered Anakin a dead friend and Darth Vader a seperate entity.

Luke is like a surrogate son to Ben because of his friendship to Anakin. The way Ben goes about things in ANH makes Luke proud of his father, instead of Ben being a jerk and telling Luke his father was nothing more than a monster. In this way I can see that Ben was respecting his old friend's memory and their friendship despite all the evil 'Vader' had done.

Easter eggs: 'Star Wars Holiday Special'?
While still unconfirmed, word is the Star Wars Blu-ray collection is loaded with hidden Easter Eggs — intentionally hidden content. Speculation is there may be an episode of the 1980s animated television series “Droids” hidden on one of the discs. The biggest rumor, however, is that the legendary 1978 “Star Wars Holiday Special” may appear in some way, shape or form in the set.

Lucas reportedly keeps the only masters of the hilariously awful TV special under lock and key because he was embarrassed by it. But releasing this quirky piece of "Star Wars" history could help mend some fences with some of those unhappy longtime fans.

I'm so angry right now.

My Amazon order, which was supposed to be here today, Is not here at all. In fact, no one knows where it is. I was sent a tracking number yesterday, my brother had his sent nearly the exact same time.

My tracking still says " A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated. "

I called Amazon and they have no clue where it is. They offered me a 10 dollar credit. 10 bucks. Right.

I called UPS. They have no clue where it is either. I had this preordered since Day 1.

I'm about to call them again and just tell them to cancel the whole thing. I'll buy it somewhere else tonight.

Its now nearly 7pm where I live. Well past any delivery time. My brother received his copy. Anyone else have this happen?

Does the bd look way better then the dvd?
of course, and some closeups look very nice.
the various scenes in darkness really suffer, however, and the bd really struggles to provide much additional clarity in these scenes. Even if the "real" original film never comes to bd, at least Fox needs to spring for a proper 4k restoration of the OT.
The overall clarity on these OT bds could have been far better imo, and even though it's a definite upgrade, this set is nowhere near as good as it could have been with a better effort imo.
no way SW deserves a 4.0 for pq given the quality I have seen on many other films from the 60's and 70's.
3.0 for pq imo at best.
Fox deserves any criticism it gets after all the effort they put forth for the Alien series.
Star Wars certainly deserved exactly the same effort, and it's apparent to me that didn't happen.
You can't be serious

The OT look amazing even the reviewer here and everywhere else the PQ gets great reviews. A 3 give me a break

Ben and Like have a good conversation about this in ROTJ. Or was it ESB.

I watched "Episode IV" last night and was very impressed with the AV presentation. The audio was excellent even at a medium volume (watched it at midnight, live in a condo and share one wall). I'd easily give the picture 4 stars, maybe even 4.5. Can't wait to watch Empire this weekend at full volume!

Default Lucas does it again - incomplete

Well it looks like George has done it again - he has given us an incomplete set. One of my favorite deleted scenes that I wish was in the film was the scene from Episode III - Yoda Exiled to Dagobah. As far as I can tell it is not included on Bonus Disc 1. I have not yet checked to see if other scenes are missing as well. Has anybody found this scene as an easter egg?
