I'll admit , I don't like it but a least there's a book that lists everything. Now that would of been aggravating.

besides that whats all the extras that are missing from this set ?
You can get the street address to ILM or LucasFilms Ltd and direct the letter to him personally but I'm pretty sure he has people to go through and read all that and decide what he see's and doesn't see.

First time I ever saw Phantom Menace and it was pretty unspectacular

Jar-Jar's voice and joke scenes at least to me tend to not provide the comic relief someone had intended and instead they just hurt the pace and tone of the film.

Still all and all the Pre movies are a decent enough foundation to make you really care about the good movies IMOP of course

There are small areas on the discs where the paint is missing, therefore so is the reflective coating in that area...

I've had enough CDs and DVDs go on me because of this, I don't want to take a chance with a $90 blu-ray set and start to notice skipping down the road.

Hold the paint side up to your eye and you can see clean through.

Same problem with Episode V and the Documentary Disc. Empire has it in 2 spots, although neither are as large as ANH.
Ok so after reading this, I thought I should inspect my set from Amazon before I started watching them tonight. My episodes I,III,V,VI and bonus disc 2 all have these same type of pin size holes. So I contacted Amazon and they told me I will have a replacement on monday. I really hope the next copy doesnt have the same issues, and that this is not becoming a trend with this set.

Just got done with EP1. Very solid PQ but this wont be the reference title in the group. Audio rocked. The space shots are sweet and so are the daytime Coruscant/Naboo/Tatooine shots. Some of the darker early scenes and a few others at various spots are slightly below par, IMO. This is an honest assessment.

Enjoyed the flick itself - as annoying as Jar Jar can be, he isnt a complete deal-killer. The whole trade block issue & banter about it is a little hokey but it all comes together at the end.

And YES...the Pod Race is epic.

Picked up the original trilogy tonight along with Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Citizen Kane, and X-Men: First Class. Pretty good haul for one night. Used a bunch of gift cards on them at Best Buy and only paid $10 cash by the time it was over.

Currently watching the first Star Wars and it looks great. Fox did a really good job with it.

I apologize. That was poorly written. I had watched A New Hope and Empire with my daughter earlier in the day and she kept saying Luke Skywalker over and over again, for hours. She's 3. She also kept saying, 'far, far away' over and over again. I had to read the written words to her.

When we watched TPM tonight, she kept asking where Luke Skywalker was hiding.

Not that it matters cause he pretty much has lost his ability to see anyway.

Just finished watching A New Hope. Reading through many of these posts, it seems as though we take many things for granted, focusing on trivial issues while missing the big picture. Perhaps some forum members are old enough to remember when this movie was first run in the theater and was simply called "Star Wars". Now, 34 years later - finally, finally(!) - we are able to watch this movie that was so important to us in our youth in high definition on quality A/V systems. What an incredible experience it was to see this, better than I can ever recall seeing it, at leisure in my own home! This was a good day. Fantastic!

Never seen Star Wars (don't hate) and was wondering if I should start with Episode IV or go in order with I-VI?

Don't really wanna see great quality and then also see great quality but not as great effects and just over quality, because I'm sure I-III looks better.

Just checked that specific scene. Watched the two previous chapters and then the part where you said it skipped. Playing it on my PS3 and there was not drop out whatsoever. I'll see when I watch the whole thing from start to finish.

If you don't know the big secret yet, watch 4 to 6 first.

I wouldn't be so sure that they look better. I refuse to buy the prequels because I think they're turds, but the review here said Episode I had a lot of DNR that hurt the PQ. I'm watching A New Hope right now and it looks great. Grain structure is intact.

4-6, then 1-3; don't even think twice about it.

That the prequels stink...? lol

Maybe it is something plot related? I know NOTHING about Star Wars. Literally nothing.

This is your lucky day - AOTC has a green tint like FOTR.

Up until a week ago, I was completely against picking up this set, for all the same reasons as the other purists. I STILL DON'T care for the OT changes, but my position now is that I'm not going to let, what, 10 minutes worth of changes (if that), ruin 110 minutes of nostalgia. A New Hope is so immersive with the DTS HD MA track and MUCH improved picture quality that it left me feeling the way I did when I first saw it as a kid. Sure, I will continue to watch my 2006 DVD laserdisc transfers, but I can't say the 2006 versions have ever roused up that childhood nostalgia. I sure am glad I decided to pick up this set.
