I'm sure I'm not the first to note this, but has anyone else noticed that the new E1 Yoda is the first digital Yoda to completely "feel" like the puppet? Watch the mouth (especially pursing) the way his head moves in alignment with his back; he looks ever-so-slightly puppeteered, he feels...RIGHT! I'm so incredibly impressed with the work done here: it's the only convincing match to the puppet, and it really makes me wish that the E2 and even E3 Yodas will get a tweak in one of the 20 upcoming rereleases in my lifetime.

Going through bonus disc one at the moment and this is just great stuff on here. Lots of great behind the scenes footage.

One thing I noticed on Yoda in ep. 1-3 is that the tip of his right ear twitches abit. Tried to see if this was mimicking something in the puppet movement in ep. 5 or 6, but didnt see anything.

Depending on the quality of your display... and a 42" HDTV at typical viewing distances... you might see less improvement than others.

The smaller the HDTV, the harder it will become to distinguish the quality I suspect.

Lucas was ready to go that route though.
That is not what happened at all. The CGI tests for Digital Yoda were for Episode 2. They're on the previous DVDs.

ILM's animators used the footage from ESB as a test for matching the Digital Yoda to the puppet.

The footage was only ever a test to prepare for AotCs. And Lucas in several places has said the puppet is fine in the OT.

The article is wrong. It's confusing the facts of the test for AotC, because ESB was used for the test footage.

I had the "paint chip" problem on my ROTS disc, contacted Amazon for a replacement. I'm happy to say it came in this morning and all the disc in this set look fine. I really examined them to make sure, was going to swap disc between the 2 sets if needed but didn't have to.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

I'm not one of those people, but I certainly understand where those people are coming from.
No one stated they were inferior! What was being stated was the fact that buying the original trilogy for $40 isn't worth the upgrade as the masters are severly dated by current standards.

The prequel trilogy is actually a big upgrade compared to the dvd's but then again these were recently remastered from the digital files for all 3 films. The original trilogy remastering was done 7 years ago.

Well, I've only watched "A New Hope" but the PQ wasn't as bad as the reviewer let on. Plan on watching Empire Strikes Back later this evening and then Return of the Jedi sometime tomorrow. I'm ordering the prequel trilogy this evening and hoping it gets here by Wednesday.

The local Best Buy store pissed me off.

Is it just me or is Jabba the Hutt smoking a bing and being fanned by a pot leaf when we first see him in RotJ?

Man the PQ on these are soooo good. I have to fix my brightness/contrast/sharpness though because I'm getting a lot of mattes in the OT. I have mine set to be too dynamic

Also I believe I noticed a small audio change in ROTS. When Grievous/Obiwan are dueling, when the clones burst in they now do a sort of battle cry like yarr!! move move move come on go go go!! Dunno if you guys knew that. I could swear its not on the dvd.

I was just wondering if anyone is having issues with the little video segments that plays between menu option.

Mine pauses at times and after a short time goes to the menu option I selected.

On a related off-topic topic, I just came back from a garage sale and got the original Empire Strikes Back storybook. But even better I got a "Saga Edition" chess set with all the pieces and game board (no box though) for just $5.

Sort of a Star Wars weekend, starting with the Blu-Ray purchase and now the garage sale finds.

So, they will send you a replacement for something like that? And I take it they are having you send the other set back after receiving the new one? If so, I may give this a try since my first set arrived a bit dented and my ROTS disc has a chip on it, too.

OK, so you have a Pioneer PRO-630HD 58" 1080i Rear Projection TV sold around 2004. I was not familiar with the model; sorry you think that I am blind, I am much more familiar with the Pioneer Plasma TVs, but not necessarily by their model number. I believe the Pioneer TVs improved since 2004 until they stopped production in 2008 or 2009, particularly with their Plasmas.
