Default Ep II AOTC: Panasonic BD glitches

Disc surface immaculate.
I’ve got a Panasonic DMP BD30 with the latest firmware.
Exchanged the boxset but new disc has the same trouble spots.
Now planning to wait for the single disc editions and I’ll order one from Amazon.UK
Hopefully a later batch from a different area might be ok.
I have a Panasonic DMP-BD30 V3.0 firmware (Aug 24, 2011) and have the same issues with AOTC: macro-blocking-type effect at 1:19:29 and 2:00:05 that clears itself. Upon rewind, effect is reproducible. From rgray_69's post, it appears that this is isolated to Panasonic BD30 and BD50 firmware since the disc played correctly with a store BD player on display.

Oh wow. So they've changed the wipe-turned cut back to a wipe again in Sith (when Anakin's arm reaches for the gravel). It's about as minor a change as there is, but strange to see it back to its original version. I wonder if that means someone screwed up and mastered the wrong version to Blu?

Another inconsistentcy was in ESB where obi wan tells yoda the boy is our only hope. How could Obi Wan forget about Leia? But if you use your imagination you could get past this. Maybe obi wan says that luke is the only hope because Luke is the only one being trained to be a Jedi.

Owen and Beru did look very young be we don't know their really ages. Padme was supposed to be 14 in tpm but she seems older and much more mature than 14. Same with Luke and Leia they were supposed to be 18 in ANH yet they seem more mature. The r2d2 thing I saw as Obi wan playing dumb and also he said he doesn't recall owning a Druid which he never did. R2 was Padme's, 3po was Anakin's.

On Another note I noticed a consistency with characters yelling out "noooo" especially during the final acts of most of the saga and now during rotJ. I didnt notice it in AOTC though. I hope Lucas goes back to add a "noooo" in a scence in AOTC.

I'm confused. Can you explain that better?

It's never made known in the films if they are still using the clones, it would make sense if they were, but some argue they are normal people recruited into service.

As there is an Ipmerial academy that is mentioned in the deleted scene from A New Hope. So I guess it works either way.

They ARE clones, and others.

Funny too, cause in 1977, many of us thought they were actually robots!

Or maybe that was just me and my 6-year-old mind. LOL

Sure. In the original theatrical version of Sith, when Obi-Wan is leaving Mustafar, there's a wipe to Anakin's hand grabbing gravel after he's been burned. In the DVD version, they changed it to a hard cut (rather than the wipe). On the Blu-ray, it's back to a wipe.

It's an extremely minor change, but it's an interesting change, since it's gone back and forth. That makes me think it might've been changed for a reason, and then mistakenly dropped for the Blu-ray.

Interesting. Shows how complex bringing this many movies to Blu was for sure. I am certainly grateful for the producers efforts. I can forgive a few mistakes. A few

Watching AOTC now (seen ANH, ESB, and ROTS <-- my 6-year-old's order requested, not mine LOL), and notice certainly more than a few shots throughout that look a bit blurry, and out of complete focus.

For me, I see those kind of issues as a problem from the source material and not authoring itself. These movies have all been around for a while now, and were not intended originally to be shown on HD TV, per se. They were all produced for film (yes even ROTS, although thankfully it translated well to HD).

So I have to say, these are definitely the BEST any of them have EVER looked, or sounded!!!

Thanks to all who worked so hard to bring them to us! Even our post office person LOL!

Well I have gotten through all six films now. I am pretty happy with the set. The only things I didn't care for were the magenta frames in ANH when there are laser blasts. They were quite distracting. And I also noticed quite a few shots from the Endor scenes in ROTJ that appeared to be a bit soft or slightly out of focus.

Guess we're lucky to even get cover art. Seems the studios have been going cheap lately here in the US. Studios have started to use a single color for the cover art for discs in the US (WB has gone to using black ink only; Universal has been using light blue only) while internationally they get full blown multi-colored disc art. We also seem to only get box sets of a number of popular releases where as other countries get both box sets and individual releases. As far as I'm aware the eco cases haven't shown up overseas either.

Anybody notice the sudden Force Run by Obiwan and QuiGon when the Droidekas show up in the beginning of TPM? I don't ever recall this being in the film before...unless we just couldn't see it due to lower resolution home mediums. When the Droidekas first roll up in the corridors of the Federation Battleship and Obiwan and QuiGon are battling B1 battledroids, Obiwam yells, "Destroyer droids!" and then WHOOSH! off to the right both Obiwan and QuiGon go.
