Which is odd because for the longest time before these were confirmed, there were pre-order sites for all 6 films.

Not so much a "pre-order" but Amazon has a sign up alert for when it becomes available. That's good enough for me>!

You, the fans, do not own the film, Lucas owes you nothing but his desire to release a product he is artistically satisfied with, and no one is making you purchase this new set with Lucas' preferred version. So basically, give it a rest. The topic is old and tired beyond belief. Chances are you'll still buy the set despite all of your complaining.
Exactly my thoughts!

Wow, you're right - its on the 1982 cut. I read it was still missing, I suppose that's from the new version.

Bravo, Steven.
Speaking of editing the word "Terrorist", Back to the Future was on Nick at Nite on Friday, and since it's on basic cable, it's edited for television, which is to be expected (i.e. swear words cut out/replaced, etc). But the one thing that I noticed was that when Marty is sitting down in the Cafe', writing the letter to Doc to warn him about getting shot by terrorists, they cut out the word terrorists. It was a pretty bad edit to. In place of it, it seems like they tried to make it sound like he studdered or hesitated with his next sentence, and it just sounded terrible (they basically repeat a portion of his dialogue). In the regular, NON-edited-for-TV version, he says "... you will be shot by terrorists. Please take whatever precautions are necessary to prevent this terrible disaster." On the recent TV version, it went like this, "... you will be shot. Please ta... (brief pause here) please take whatever precautions are necessary to prevent this terrible disaster."

Thankfully this is just a TV edit and not something that will be effecting the upcoming Blu-Ray release of that movie, but I thought it both funny and sad that we've let recently historical events lead to editing out a word that in and of itself is not a vulgar word or a "swear" word.

I know to some extent this would have been better suited to be posted in the BTTF thread, but I thought I'd mention it here since the editing of it in the newer version of E.T. was brought up here.

I wonder if we'll get the scenes with Luke's friends that Marcia fought to keep in Star Wars, but Lucas cut wanted out. Or is that too much of an expense for Lucas to manage?

If the deleted scenes from the original trilogy are not in this collection, I will be passing until they do show up. It's been far too long for these scenes not to be on video by now.

The scenes suck anyway. And were rightly cut for that exact reason. Plus the woman who played Camie apperantly turned out to be a porn star.
But yes, these scenes should be on the Blu-Ray. Considering Lucas approved the recent Camie and Fixer 2-Pack sold at Star Wars Celebration V.

Considering they announced the set by showing a deleted scene that was believed never shot from ROTJ, it's pretty likely.

Biggs goes up to Luke and says, "Luke, you are becoming one with the force and have mastered the lightsaber, all of which once again proves my theory... Germans love David Hasslehoff!"
