Sorry to inflict it upon you.

It's the most jarring scene tonally in the whole OT, the CGI is terrible, the song is annoying and the CG characters pose and look at the camera, totally breaking the 4th wall.

IMO it's the worst change in the whole "Saga".
If that's the "Worst Change", it's still eons better than what was there before. With the terrible puppet and the bland song.

To me it fits the wild and crazy feel of Jabba and his Den of Thieves far better than Lapti Nek ever did.

Naw, the puppet and bland song were way more subdued and didn't dramatically alter the entire scene.

Jedi Rocks doesn't "fit" anything, it's easily the most jarring tonal shift in the whole 6-movie saga and the CG is so drastically out of place it sticks out like a sore thumb.

I also like The Godfather and you think it's "terrible". Some folks like prime rib, some folks like microwave burritos.

Sampled some of each film. TPM looks fine. It looks a little soft at times, like AOTC, but that's about it. ROTS is reference. And the OT looks great.

And man, the audio on ESB is LOOOOOOUUUUUDDD. Personally, I think the mix in ROTS is great. TPM and AOTC are a little "hot" whilst I think ROTS is a little bit more balanced.

I personally thought TPM and AotC had a much more three dimensional surround sound and more defined bass than RotS. They were also much hotter overall. I think RotS has pretty great sound overall, but after experiencing the first two, I just don't find it quite as articulate or immersive.

I thought the audio on the OT was pretty great overall, but I did notice some dialog in ANH that would go from clear to muffled occasionally.

No offense caused at all; simply a matter of confusion. Haha

I watched short and found it. Certainly not an Easter Egg; it's not hidden and it requires no tricks to watch it.

I agree about everything you said regarding the prequel films' soundtracks, but I like to think I heard more detail in ROTS. Now, TPM and AOTC were still reference but the different clicks and ambient noises in ROTS were a bit above and beyond. If that film had a tad more LFE and the lightsabers made vroom noises in our subs like the other two prequels, it'd be the most reference of all 6 films - as it is, I think it's just the most detailed.

I would actually take it a step further... I think they legitimately screwed up the mix in ROTS.

Not only does it lack the LFE that dominates the other two movies, but it often sounds like the dialogue is tinny, lispy, lacking in certain frequencies. The most obvious offender was Mace Windu maybe 1/2 to 2/3's into the movie. It sounds like it was recorded on old microphones onto an analog soundboard and not balanced properly. I was actually a little disappointed after the other two movies. They sound great, but they also sound consistent.

I really feel like ROTS is lacking a whole range of frequencies that should be there. I studied audio engineering, and my ear is usually pretty discerning when it comes to lacking frequencies. I honestly think they botched the mix. It still sounds balanced in terms of levels, but the frequencies just sound "off" to me.

Those are two things I would've liked a lot, but the main thing for me that it lacked compared to the other two is the directionality. The overall sound quality for RotS is great, it's really detailed and clear, but the overall soundstage doesn't seem quite as expansive.

Don't get me wrong, it sounds great, it just doesn't blend seamlessly with the first two. The surround on the first two really engulfed me like almost no other blu-ray has.

The opening scene in ROTS had tremendous LFE.

Interesting thought. I have no professional experience in surround sound - only stereo music mixing - so I can't truly agree or disagree. I thought what was there sounded great, but I may go back and listen with a finer-tuned ear regarding the actual frequencies.

I felt the directionality in ROTS was fantastic! Actually, there were a couple pans from rear left/right to the opposite front speaker (moving from right to left across the soundstage, for example) that I noted as some of the smoothest I'd ever heard on the format. As far as directionality, I was exceedingly happy.

Something tells me I may have to rewatch the PT and really listen and watch them closely - not that I didn't this time, but on more than one occasion over the Saga I got right into the films and forgot to pay attention to detail for a while. I just enjoyed them. It was great. But it sounds like watching them again with a closer eye for detail will be in order.

Visually, I felt ROTS was truly the best in the whole franchise. I noticed a bit of digital noise in AOTC but I didn't see any that I can remember in Sith. Up there with Avatar for visuals imho, but I thought it sounded a lot better than Avatar does.

Might have to pull out Avatar and compare the two Blus.

I popped in ROTS literally moments after the end theme music started on AOTC, and I thought the difference was night and day. It totally lacked the LFE of AOTC imo.

My audio setup is crappy, but AOTC sounded legitimately awesome even on a crappy setup, while ROTS sounded restrained and kind of neutered.

I will find a timestamp for Mace sounding tinny/lispy/lacking in frequencies when I get home, because it was really painfully obvious to me.

Can I ask you what gear you have for your audio system? Just curious as to what crappy means to you. I have a crappy HTiB Sony system, but I think the sound is tremendous for its size and thankfully doesn't seem to bother any of my neighbours in my apartment building - fits all my needs

Not that I think the problem is your system; I'm just legitimately curious and you don't have the info posted anywhere else that I saw.

The very, very beginning of it has a deep loud "OOOOOOOmmm" kind of thing that was pretty impressive, but after it really cut to the action, that faded out.
I really feel like the surround was really washed out too, compare to the first two.

I watched Empire on my PS3 Slim tonight. I noticed once I loaded the disc, I heard a humming sound, like the disc was spinning much faster than normal. Once I got to the menu screen, it went away and sounded like it was spinning at the normal rate. I loaded A New Hope after I was done and it was silent the entire time it went to the menu screen.

Empire played fine and stayed quiet throughout the entire film. Anyone else ever get that humming/fast spinning type of noise?

Sometimes my Sony laptop will spin a disc very fast and it makes a humming like sound, so I don't know if it's a Sony thing or not.

You know what, I've been reading about this R2-D2 loading icon and I was wondering what the hell people were talking about. I've been playing all my discs on my PS3 60gb and never seen it.

Then I tried playing them in a stand alone player and the load times were a lot worse! Thats when I saw the R2! My damn PS3 loads the discs too quick! Wasn't until it took it's time to load on a stand alone player that I saw it
